I have a question from the previous release:

I went without my carputer since last July (when my car's engine died). I recently got the car running again, updated RR to the 3/1 release (just before this one was available), and now when RR loads I just have "rrpl" in my playlist everytime I boot regardless if I add songs.

I'm running windows xp from a CF card, using EWF on the C: partition (so any changes made to the C: partition are not saved). I have RR installed on the D: partition so I can make changes to the RR program folder without issue. I assume using EWF on the C: partition is causing my problem - does it have something to do with the 'profile' feature?

rrpl... update WINAMP! (older winamps arent unicode, and wont load m3u8s) (prob could make a quick fix to allow older winamps... but hey lets be unicode)

if you have profile enabled... RR will write its data, in tthe profile... (mydocuments\rideruner...) but RR has FULL HORM support, if you set it up...
since your installing rr on D, and not using EWF there, welll.. i would not use profile..
well more i think about about, i would just set RR up to use HORM, and put RR on C just like any other program, and be in profile mode
but if you dont want to change anything, just install RR on your D, and not in profile mode... and all data will be written in the RR folder on D
    -Thanks

Thanks for the info. I don't actually use HORM, just EWF. I'll update winamp, use the april RR release, and keep it on D: since I don't have time to futz around with it right now.

I'm currently running on riderunner from version 02/03/10..will there be any issues of me updating considering there was some customizations with embedding apps, etc. involved? in other words if i update will it screw up anything i've done in the past to riderunner?

No, the installer will not over write any of the ini files. There is one exceptions to this rule, that being the default carwings skin, if you modified the currently installed one and update, it will over write that skin folder as that is the default installed skin. If not using it, then there is no problems with updating, as we try to encourage it, otherwise just make a copy of that skin folder and call it something else, or uncheck that opt when doing the update install.

Thank you for the swift reply blue! yes i have updated but made a backup in case, fear of all my hard work being erased =P. one thing i can add i notice is that the only file, in updating that one would have to really make a copy of the old one is the ExecTBL file in the carwings skin, just copy and paste after the new install. Differences i notice that bug me abit is there's an extra step to back out from the music folder, it hangs on a screen with a 1. as a file, after you back out once to go to the main screen, and would have to press back once more. An addition i would ask to consider that would make the default much more pleasing is to add a slideshow button for the pictures section so it would rotate pictures on viewing instead of clicking one at a time. other than that keep up the great job!
I also used to get the nag screen for awhile and sent a registration email, whenever you get the chance mitch =)
