right now i see its based on 12 sats...

GPSSIGNAL = (NUMBER of detected SATS * 65535) / 12
gets you a number 0-65535 (37267 = 6 sats)
i dont know enough about GPS... something tells me 12 being hardcoded isnt right

yes.. this is a usless slider code, two options...
obsolte it.. .cause one never knows how many total sats out there at any given time
or you set the divisior count with a setting

"GPSSAT" would give you the count, prob best to show that
now knowing what area you travel in at a given time, may let you look up the max # of sats you can see
i just dont think its a constant
not to mention, you dont need them all to get a lock

In my skin I have a screen with GPS info, there are both the numerical data GPSSAT and GPSSIGNAL with a dynamic graphic indicator.
I'm sorry, but yesterday I checked this screen during a trip and into the May release of RR it seems to work well. So I suppose you had already solved the problem. In the older version the bar of the indicator appeared and disappeared randomly.

it assume 12 SATS are the MAX number of sats... maybe thats true, you tell me, whats the max number of sats a GPS PUCK can see?

No, the problem wasn't the sat number, but the graphic bar, for example I have an indicator with 5 bar for the radio and the GPS signal. It works well with the radio but not for the GPS, in this case I had, for example, the first bar on, the second off, the third on and something like that. In other words the graphic representation was strange.

I don't now why, but now it works well.
In any case I have a new installation, so could be there was a problem in my skin.
