For the DVD resume, and file position (When playing an .avi, .mov ect) you have to check mark a couple of settings in the options.
Open MPC HC outside RR. Right click somewhere on the window and choose options. Make sure to check mark the ones shown in this screen cap:

ATTENTION FELLOW CAR PC ENTHUSIASTS, POWER ACOUSTIC = CAR PC KRYPTONITE!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
To my adoring fans, No my Toyota's gas pedal didn't get stuck! Instead I saw you crossing the street and decided to floor it! Unfortunately, I MISSED!!!
actually john on those settings, might be conflicting with what is done by CORE RR code... (or just not applicable)
RR will position the playback at time TIME counter it last had (saved in dvd.ini) when entering DVD MODE AGAIN
which might not be the same as that players settings... dont know... but if the time in in the titleset that is the main
title set it will resume
same for video, RR will reposition
it always has, thats what RR does, nothing to do with any player specifically
-Thanks

Ahhh didn't know that. During my beta testing the DVD always started back at the beginning. I went into the settings for MPC-HC.ini and set it to resume and it fixed it. This must be something you added in later......

Gee, I wonder if it would embed into CF. CF sure could use a decent player....![]()

john, actually no...
its in rr core...
it might not work, if title set is not the same to resume from...
where that check box might help it, but then i see a conflict...
ill say for now, what ever works![]()

Well I know for fact it was not working till I changed that setting in MPC (During the beta testing at least). As, when we were beta testing, and trying to get the chapter menu stuff to work, I would have to wait for the FBI warning EVERY time and it was driving me crazy, so I started digging and found that in the MPC settings. I changed it, and Poof, It would resume to where I was during the last test.
It was most certainly the same DVD, as I had to dig around just to find one to test with.

the FBI Warning would be in a different title set...
so i bet, the code that was in RR is flawed a bit
its just a logic thing
all it does is say resume at time XXX
so titleset #1 is 30 seconds
titleset #2 is 2 hrs (the movie)
so rr will tell the player to resume what ever time it was at
so
lets say at 1.4hr mark in the movie
restart rr... it will tell player to resume at 1.4 but in title set #1
since thats what the player is playing, and title set #2 is on 30 seconds...
so no resume as you would EXPECT

more research, i would recomend johns setting at least for today...
while rr will time position, it cant titleset position
looking at how mpc-hc does it, its complicated enought
DVD Position 0=cc4643f4d6dbb807010000000011170c
that right there is somehow a position information, maybe sector, i dont know
but it works...
for me to fully do it, i would need to be able to know what title set its in...
and then reset that title set

Maybe have RR turn off it's internal resume information then?
If Player=MPC-HC then saveresume=False
(Of course that is not the proper syntax, just the jist of it)
This way there is no conflict. Also, it is highly accurate, and resumes within a couple of frames of where you left the DVD playing when exiting the screen.
Lastly, it gives RR one less thing to worry about, and let the player handle it.
