OBD2 : Need to know the most used software and skin with RR?

I recently plan to upgrade my CARPC with OBD2.
However, after researching on the net, found there are many kinds of wireless OBD2, software.
    Could any of you share....

    1. WiFi or Bluetooth OBD2 adapter should I buy?
    2. What kind of software that best suit up with RR?
    3. Which skin you used?

    Thanks in advance!

    br,
    /Vinchan

I am not familiar with the OBDII stuff that much, but check the OBDMPG thread. One is mentioned in there, and it seems to work with just about all of the front ends and plugins.

As far as the most used / most popular skin.....

That is more a matter of taste. Have a look through the skins, and see what one appeals to you. Do a little reading in the thread, and see if is is complete or has the features that you want.

Not the response you thought I would type is it Enforcer

Exactly the type of response I would have expected.

However I would have probably have said the most installed skin for RR is carwings, closely followed by DFX.

i use OBD_DIAG and an old scantool.net wired setup

i would guess that either a bluetooth or wifi would work well for you, if your setup has bluetooth, that'd probably be easiest.

no skin (to the best of my knowledge) currently has native support for OBDII. a lot of guys just boot OBD_DIAG as an external program in their skin, although im not technlogically savvy enough to do it myself.

so when i need to use an OBDII program, i shut off riderunner, go to the start menu, and click on the program.

Well.... actually the DFX skin has OBDMPG plugin support. This is a RideRunner plugin written by mezz64. It can read most of the PID's and display the information in RideRunner.

Here is a screen capture of it running in the DFX skin. (Note: I do not have a OBDII scanner hooked to this PC, so all the information is showing blank in the screen cap)

There are also included skins with the plugin for use with the CarWings skin.

You can find more information, and get the plugin in the OBDMPG Thread.
