Finally thinking of getting a FM Tuner

Thinking of getting a FM tuner (want it integrated with RR) it has been 10+ years without a FM radio.
I read somewhere that the Visteon HDZ300 is a good one to get with Mitches cable.

I don't see to many of the Visteon HDZ300. Did the company make different models besides the "HDZ300?" A lot of places only says HD Radio Component Car Tuner Kit like this one from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Radio%C2%BF-Co...=pd_rhf_shvl_1

Is this the one that will work with RR?

Are they any good? (sound quality & reception) or any better tuners out there?

One last question: I have Sirius will I be able to use 2 line in's one for the Sirius & 1 for the radio?. My soundcard has extra jacks not being used and I think they are programable.

search for "Directed HD Radio" and you will see one that has a black box, and a little LCD, thats it
nab,prob can get for NO MORE than $50

and there will be no tuner better for carpc!

A piece of advice for you, check your HD station availability in your area. There are three or four stations near me, and when driving they drop in and out a lot leading to skipping music, changing audio properties (bass gets deeper, then shallower, same with treble), and general crappyness. When there is no HD reception or when I'm actually in the middle of the city where the station is, I get wonderful reception and it's awesome to listen to... but the fading in and out when you're at the limits of HD range, without the ability to lock it to non-hd, is a real deal breaker for these units imo.

dont blame the units... BLAME THE FCC, (or the system)

right now, they only allow the digital signals to operate at 1% of the analog power... this will change in the next few years

really comes down to public adoption, plublic want it, radio stations will get better equiptment

but if you live in a major US City, it cant be beat

oh there is a way to tune ANALOG only, but since I reversed engineered this...the command is unknown

and the units are not in production, the manaufacture of the module, wouldnt help me too

There either is a way for us to do it, or there is not. Which is it?

So using stock hardware, or even your cable and aftermarket software it is not an available option. Ergo, it does not currently have this ability, so this is still a huge issue with the unit that should be taken into consideration before purchasing.

How does it work, I mean is auto switching? or have to manally select what port? I see it has software so I guess after you set it up it will open up the correct port depending on what you click in RR.
