    Multiple GPS programs

    (I think there must be a way) Is there a way to have-use-embed mutiple Gps programs?
    I did search but could not find anthing on embeding mutiple Gps programs. I know how to embed a single gps program (when I can get it to work)

    I did have Iguidance setup in the rrconfig then I had Garmin as a application in the BMV2 skin before (years ago)

    I have been trying to get it setup with DXF5 skin with no luck. I want to use the correct named button in the skin, instead on having to go to applications to get to the other gps program.

    I added the extra 2 lines in the RR.INI for the other gps program but that did not work.

    I don't know where I need to change the settings to get it to work (if possible)

    DFX5 has just about all of the GPS programs skinned and set up individually. Press and hold a main menu button, and choose from Garmin, Streets & trips, iGuidance and others. You can have as many GPS programs set up on main menu buttons that you wish to. You will of course have to use a COM port splitter like Xport or something.
    Front End of Choice: Ride Runner (Is there anything else??? ) & Powered by the DFX5.1 Skin Available in the Mobile App Mart

    You'll need a port splitter like Xport (for 32 bit systems) or Franson GpsGate (for 64 bit systems) to be able to use multiple gps applications within RR. Port Splitters take the data from your default GPS com port and sends it to virtual ports that the splitter creates. You simply assign RiderRUnner and your software to one of the virtual ports.

    Default GPS Port ---> Splitter -----> COM x ---> RR
    -----> COM x ---> GPS App 1
    -----> COM x ---> GPS App 2
    Etc., etc.

    I do have have xport. Right now I am trying to get Iguidance and Garmin working (maybe more later
    I do have have the main buttons that I want in DFX5 but it does not work.

    The only GPS program that launches is the one that is setup in the rrconfig.

    "Edit"
    In the skin.ini file (DFX5) there are multiple lines (for the same gps program) that has the program path in it. Does all the lines with a specified path need to be changed? (if the path is different (my situation)) I asume so but wanted to make sure.

    If you're running win 7 on an x64 system you may have to go into the DFX folder and edit the paths specified in the skin.ini for Garmin and Iguidance.

    Ex. The current path may be something like c:\program files\iguidance\iguidance.exe You would need to change it to C:\program files (x86)\iguidance\iguidance.exe. And, of course, each program (RR, iGuidance, and Garmin) would need to be assigned to separate virtual ports. Although, if your using Xport. That should mean that you're running a 32 bit system which would make all I just said totally useless. Xport won't run on a 64 bit system.

    If you're running a 32 bit system, you may still need to edit the skin.ini paths if you installed your software in other than default directories. Both iGuidance and Garmin are selectable and already coded to look in their standard install directories to run in DFX.
