OK, figured out the second question, you must have an ExecTbl.ini in the RideRunner directory even if it contains just a comment. Why???
I still can't find much (actually nothing so far) on skin.ini.
Regards,
Jim
Can someone point me to either a post or documentation or both on:
- Usage and format of skin.ini
- How to get an Exectbl.ini in the skin directory to be used
I have an Exectbl.ini in my skin directory (yes, the path is correct) and no exectbl.ini in the Riderunner directory and the one in the skin directory doesn't get used.
Regards,
Jim

Skin.ini is just a working text file where plugins and skins can dump variable information or set skin specific versions of rr variables/settings.

Mitch,
That kind of response solves nothing and says nothing.
Actually the question was why is it coded that way? If an ExecTbl.ini file in the Riderunner directory isn't logically required if there is one in the skin directory, why code the application so it is especially when there is no error reported and the applications doesn't function properly or, at least as expected?
The is just the type of little thing that drives users, experienced or not, crazy especially when there appears to be no documentation on the subject.
After 50 years in the commercial application development business I think I'm allowed to say, "Let's raise the bar a little on what is a good free application?.
Regards,
Jim
dude, this is not really a commerical appication, its worked on during free time, and hundreds of hours have gone in to it..
that being said....
both exectbl.ini files are used
one is global, one is skin based
the global one takes precidence
OnxxxEvents also, now since i updated it a bit ago, can run from BOTH exectbls simultainously
there isnt a ton of error handling in rr, well there a lot more since over time i put more and more in
so it is what it is... the file is expected to be there peroid
if you want to report it as a bug thats one thing...
-Thanks
