RR - Chinese Unicode issue - SOLVED

and id like to know your RR.ini settings
to know if your using ID3 and what player

Yes, I can confirm that RR is able to display unicode characters properly. One of the common problem I find with Chinese songs from China website is their ID3 tag is not save as unicode. Try using a ID3 tag editor to edit and save as unicode and try again.

But I'm playing the same mp3 file in the same computer, just run different riderunner.exe will have different results. RR Apr-2011 is good but RR Dec-2011 has the problem.

I will try to test it with Carwings skin later.

Ok. Here is my finding ---- for some unkown reason my skin was using "TAGARTIST" in the main RR page. After I changed it to "TAGTITLE", it can show the songs name correctly with both versions RR.

But what surprised me is that RR Apr-2011 and previous can display the songs name by using "TAGARTIST" in the skin. So I did not realize it is a skin issue. And the installer of the two versions also making me confused.
Anyway, it works now! :bounce:

having correct TAGS is VERY important, and ideally saved as unicode :)

the songs NAME should NEVER be in TAGARTIST, thats TAGTITLE

TAGARTIST hasnt changed, check that songs Artist Tag....

how we store tags in RR has changed, but if they where wrong, it would show on all languages

thanks rs200z, i forgot you did some chinese testing long back....

prob should move all these posts to a new thread :)

before this version support all songs of TAGTITLE with IDTag or non IDTag...All Ok


I do not agree to cut some function


It needs to be comprehensive.



Maybe you have plenty of time to handle IDTag.


IDTag is not easy to do on the car...Its so many many songs
