Reload plugin

Hi all,

Is there a mechanism to stop and reload a plugin from a skin command? The situation I have is I'm using a plugin that is loaded when RR starts. I want to be able to unload and reload it on demand from my skin. Can this be done?

A plugin can be disabled in the plugin manager screens (see carwings example), but it isnt actually unloaded from memory as far as i know. Disabling it means all the commands /labels/ inds are ignored until RR restarts. What kind of plugin would you WANT to disable?

Hi Sonic, thanx for the reply.

The plugin I'm working with is the RRVLC. The original plugin provided an .exe file which was executed by RR on startup. To get the plugin to function in the manner I wanted to, I have some commands/scripts that stopped/started the plugin (exe) on my request. The major problem with the plugin in its' original form was that the configuration for the second sound card no longer worked because of changes made to VLC. Long story short, LAMBOSPIRIT was extremely helpful and was able to rewrite the plugin and all the audio config now works. The main issue is the plugin no longer has an exe, but just a .dll, meaning all the setup of scripts and commands in my skin don't work.

I've messaged lambo about getting an exe but he hasn't been around...unfortunately I'm going away for a trip and was hoping to have this resolved by the weekend when we drive off.

That's why I was asking if unloading/reloading the plugin on demand was possible...hoping to replace the "QUIT" commands that stopped the exe with whatever command could stop the plugin.

Any ideas?
