Well...I really don't see the need for more than that, in a car pc, unless one plans on doing a huge setup. But for just the everyday things, music/GPS/Videos(when not driving...) its a bit of over kill, to each his own...

Well it's ram I had laying around. I got it installed and setup but it won't see my HD radio for some reason.

Also I'll be doing processing on the PC for a 4 way setup (3 way front + sub) so that'll require a bit more power. Eventually I'd like to do at least 2 zones if not 3. But I have to wait until the ability is more ready or go to something like the beagle/Raspberry PI.

Well I found one thing I don't like about XP, or at least it may be a problem since I'm doing processing on the CarPC for a 3 way setup with subs. In Windows 7 I can see each individual audio channel in windows volume control, but in XP it seems to group them all together? If AudioMulch can't see each channel then that may be a problem? I haven't messed with that yet though still got other things to work out.

Found another issue, for some reason XP isn't giving me volume control for this sound card. I'm not sure what's going on? But all the devices listed are my Firewire devices and I don't get any sort of windows volume control over them.

Sounds like a driver issue of sorts...

are you sure what you want to control is set as your default output device? most updated drivers for sound seem to come with their own mixer software.

if theres no optical drive in your carpc you can get a cheap ide -> usb adapter with a power brick on ebay, something like 7 or 8 bucks. you can use any cdrom as an optical drive then and set your carpc to boot from usbcd

blue: i havent tried tinyxp on my carpc, but i did try it on a laptop with a cf card. it did seem to work out well on that. i stripped down xp with nlite and had issues on the carpc though, but i cant remember what problems came up

Well found out there is a Tiny7 which is windows 7 in tiny format. I may give that a try. And yes the proper output device is set. The windows volume icon is completely gone so I'm not sure what happened with it. It worked for about 5 minutes, then it was gone.

My advice would be to probably stay away from the Tiny7 as it is not very mature compared to the TinyXP's and has many "built in" hiccups because of it. And from my understanding through researching, its not going to be worked on any further due to the death of eXperience.
