and yes, it doesnt close when rr exits, because, they have a NAG screen....
but i forced that close in RR > 8/8 builds

I didn't see anything in RR.ini or the debug.txt either. The issue appears to be when the window gets resized. The free version has a splash screen (advertisement) for mapfactor products. Once it goes away, there is a dialog warning, then the map appears. The information from above is from my desktop PC. When tried on the CarPC (x86), I get a different result. It just crashes Navigator for one of the VB dlls (Mvc???.dll), but it does not crash RR (good thing). I'll keep tinkering with it. I think the best I'll be able to do is start Nav 11 and then RR. It appears some one else on this forum has my same issue. Things may be different with the paid version.

Let me know if you have any luck. I'm having the same issues you are. I've defined an A definition in the skin (already there) and even did it as a program argument with "--window_position=" and same coordinates as in the A definition. No luck either. However, if were to start the program outside of RR and then start RR, it links as described by others. This is happening on both my desktop PC (Win7 x64) and Car PC (Win7 x86). Looking at both RR.ini files on desktop and carpc, both had the same issues with --window_position= [blank]. With the window position defined, it has both window_positions listed with the blank one being second. It is as if, on my system at least, the A definition is being ignored somehow.

are u guys sure its loading that skin?
skintool...

if its blank window position, id say the is no A on the skin... the skin that is expected to be used is external_gps.skin
i bet debug.txt would help...

I believe this is happening because PC Navigator 11 shows a banner for MapFactor (I can't get info on it with winspectorspy because it happens too fast) and a warning message (Windows Class "Edit") before the navigation window opens. The warning message must be acknowledged before you can open the nav window. I've been trying to get a class name on the banner just to test my theory. Are there any program arguments that stop that banner and warning message? If so, I firmly believe this will fix the problem.

Apology for not being RR specific and if I’m just stating the bleeding obvious.

My FE is not RR but just out of interest, when I was playing around with embedding Navigator 11 free, I found that all resize commands were being directed to the Warning window, which won’t respond to them (Win7-64). I was only testing so didn’t look any further, just auto-sent an ENTER key stroke to close the warning window before resize and everything was perfect after that. Perhaps there is a command line argument to bypass that screen, never looked.

I re downloaded RR from NISU Automotive Online Store on 9/8/12 (aus time) just to be sure,and it didnt have navigator11 listed in the drop down menu in RRconfig,
yet the other ftp ver did and nav11 now works as advertised
I also noticed that the riderunner.exe date was 2/7/12 when I first download RR aug update on the 2/8/12...... then when I re downloded it on the 9/8/12 the riderunner .exe was dated 2/8/12
Im only mentioning this as there might have been a snafu between updates on the NISU site

Mickz, Mitch, Wozza thanks for the tips. I'll go and try to find the FTP version of RR. I too downloaded the version from NISUAutomotive. BTW, where is the FTP site?

Looked all over the web. Don't see an FTP site to download the most up to date version of RR. The only download location I can find is www.nisuautomotive.com. I have the Aug release basic install on my PC. Is there another location to download RR other than nisu?
