    mitchjs team viewer sounds like a great idea, as I am getting majorly lost!

    When suits you? Otherwise I can just leave it running and send you the details and you can log in whenever you get the spare time.

    besjr69, this ON_CLICK play sound function in the exetbl.ini... is that the sound that plays every time you hit a button? If so I wouldn't mind getting rid of that anyway.

    Poita,

    Here are the lines i edited out of the exectbl.ini:

    "ONBTNPRESS","PLAYSOUND;$SKINPATH$ButtonPress. wav"
    "ONBTNHOLD","PLAYSOUND;$SKINPATH$osk.wav"

    I simply put "//" (without the quotes) in front of each line. Since doing this I've not had a lock up on DFX or Carwings. In another thread you will see I had the same issues as you. I really can't say the cause of it, but I noted that last event executed in the debug was playsound() and something about resume.ini.

    Ok, I opened this file:
    C:\Users\Legnum\Documents\RideRunner\Skins\Carwing s_Dynamic_Lite\exectbl.ini

    Made this edit:
    / --------------------------------------------------------------
    / SOUNDS
    / --------------------------------------------------------------
    //"ONBTNPRESS","PlaySound;$SKINPATH$Sounds\button1.w av"
    //"ONBTNHOLD","PlaySound;$SKINPATH$Sounds\button2.wa v"

    And... MUSIC I HEAR MUSIC!!!!

    BUT winamp is open in front of the RR interface... I think I have fixed that by checking the 'Hide Player' check box in rr.config

    Now I have no idea why the above would be a problem but I don't particularly want the sound every button press so not an issue for me.

    Doesn't fix the VLC issue but I'm pretty sure I need a plugin for that to work.

    I also tested the DFX skin and that works as well now! The 'Hide Player' doesn't seem to though but forget that for now.

    Glad I could help. The 'Hide Player' should work if you have Winamp configured for the Winamp Classic skin. The other skins do not work. Also, you will need to close the playlist editor window and any other window to completely hide the player. I have no advise for the VLC issue, but I have noticed multiple instances of Winamp when I use anything other than 'Built-in' setting.

    VLC issue fixed. Found a .rar installer on page 17 of the relevant thread and bingo it's all good. So obviously the one at the start of the thread no longer works.

    Updated my progress thread, it's getting there!

    Thanks heaps for all the help from everyone, really appreciated

    Yep all fixed, thanks heaps! Not sure why the button press beep should cause those issues, but that was the culprit!

    yes.. how can that be...
    PLAYSOUND command uses windows API to play the wav file

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=vs.85).aspx

    maybe something is intercepting, and trying to play it, not even sure thats possible

    so you didnt freeze till your pressed a button right?
    -Thanks

    Pressing buttons was fine. Sound on button press was fine. It's only when that button happened to be the music one trying to open winamp that there was any problem. So whatever was trying to open winamp or start playing music was conflicting with the button press sound and crashing RR.
