Using RRconfig in the music sections under tags and formatting
try Prefer ID3v1tags and check all the box's
you may need try the others but thats what worked for me

Thanks. I tried all combinations & no luck with it.

The tags / albumart did showed up in the Audio player skin. So if I go to Audio & then back to menu, the tags will display correctly. I tried DFX 5.1.2 & encountered the same problem.

many things here to consider...
id set to perfer v2 tags, v1 are a bit out of date
and when you start rr, if its set to resume music, then it will show tags
if winamp is playing, maybe you installed some plugin in winamp, that really you shouldnt

if you want music to resume
set in rr.ini resumemusic=1 (or 2)
1 at minimum

other wise, technically when u run RR, and thats 0, there is no source active, therefor no tags to display
to me 0 is bobo, and 1 is minimum setting
as you should really always have a source active

Yes, I'm using v2 tags with resumemusic=2 & Winamp w/o any pluggins. One thing I notice is Winamp have to be playing music when RR starts. If Winamp is started in paused state, then RR will freeze.

Here's a video of my problem with the tags :

1. RR start, music will play without tags & the track slider moving.

2. Going into Audio skin will display the tags & once back to Menu skin, the tags & track time will display correctly.

THanks, Mitch, I tried Carwings & the labels displayed correctly. Carwings is also able to run with Winamp in the paused state.

I also used skintool to check the labels for DFX skin & its confirmed that the trackname is not dislayed in the menu skin. Only by going to Audio & then back to Menu will the trackname label display correctly.
Also DFX startup will freeze if Winamp is not in the playing state.

I'm still trying to resolve these 2 issues on my benchtest. Anyone out there got any recommendations?

My PC is WIN7 SP1, 32 bits, latest flash, Netframework 3.5.1 & 4, Direct X11 & 9.0C

If it works in Carwings but not in DFX you need to ask the question in the DFX skin thread.

But first compare the labels in the menu.skin's of both skins to see if there is any difference there.

Yes, i did lots of tests & confirmed Carwings is working fine with Win7.

ok... its hard for me to test in dfx5, so many possibities
i can try...what are the labels actually in question
