Thread: Radio Module

i posted already somewhere else, that i wrote a control lib, and just need to make a rr radio module for this
but right now im swampped with other things
+ i have my own hardware design

source code to radio modules isnt public
granted you could make a custom source module

Thought it would make sense to allow this, so when someone comes up with a new radio they can develop their own radio module and sell the radio with RR support.
Anyway, does this mean my only option is to wait for official support?

really for quality control purposes, it would be best for me to do the code

you for sure can code your own plugin as a custom source

it wouldnt be an offical RR Radio module, but everything a radio module can do, can be done in a RR Custom Source Plugin
which is just really a standard plugin, with if memory serves 1 extra method.. to activate/decative the source

just like the pandora plug in is, like my web radio plug in is, there are others...

so... when i get some time, ill work on support for this radio

i have had this radio for > year now, due to many reasons, i have had to stall production and development

#1 reason is me in USA, testing DAB is very difficult...
#2 DAB technically has licensing fee, to join its aprox 25k euro... google "dab license fee"
(good news is patent runs out in jan 2013)
#3 risk vs reward... many hours into pcb desing and such, without proper testing, is always shaky ground
#4 working on other projects...

I'll try to convert my code into a custom source plugin then, until you support this radio. No problem with testing here, we use DAB+ and the Monkeyboard is extremely easy to work with it.
