this uses microsoft or widcomm stack.
for the people interested in this, the RR plugin is 90% done, need some help with the skinning, using SkinTool seems to work ok, anyone willing to do some carwings skinning for this?.
oh and a little FYI, the android app isnt free, but isnt that expensive either...
wait, the microsoft stack? built into what? the OS? win7?
there is no PBAP or HFP profiles
oh, wait, this isnt a BT phone solution, you're talking to an app on a Andoid phone... right?
yes this is for android users only, someone said he found an android app, he was trying to embed the PC client GUI, so i told him, that i have a plugin in the works instead of embeding the GUI a PI is way better, i know the limitations on microsoft stack, but this is using a server client link between android and pc using bt or wifi.
BT module for car here :
It uses AT command so it could be as simple as adding a supply and Serial-TTL converter for the basic functionality.
Project here in Russian :
Ill probably work on my own vesion once I have more free time, but if there is a software based solution then its probably not worth looking into. Must have echo/noise cancel and be able to pull the phone book.
I would still love to see someone with the knowledge be able to port the screen data and control buttons of a Parrot device to windows & a FE. They work so darn good with every phone but it would just be nice to bury it in the dash and control it from the pc.
Edit: I did find this: http://www.parrot.com/documents/en/s...ocedureeng.pdf
So the PC can communicate with the Parrot BT device for upgrade purposes so could a plugin communicate with it as well?? The cool thing is one of the models has a 3" LCD screen that shows picture caller ID, as well as name number. If that came up in RR, the cool factor would be off the charts!!
I got a few Qs on this:

-There was a post saying $75 for the complete device (Building it yourself) - can you tell if that includes the Bluetooth module ? (My past experience with those bluetooth module providers is that they don't usually sell single units unless you're a big company trying to make prototypes for large quantities later)
The guys in the Russian forum seems to be selling it as a complete unit within their group. I cant find a place to buy the module though but you can buy an equivalent module from Farnell/Mouser/RS/Digikey or Ebay. The one to look for is the one which uses the CSR BC05 chipset, it should support the correct profile and some comes with echo/noise cancel built in.

But you are right about using linein for audio it is best avoided. Once I have more time Ill buy a BT module and play with it, if it prove to be decent Ill build a USB audio for it.
I doubt anyone is going to seriously invest time, money and effort to sell a pro unit. It usually start as a hobby and the creator end up selling a few, usually the case in carpc scene.
Another one from ebay :
The link to the datasheet/pics dont work but I think its suitable.
the parrot kit can be upgraded by bluetooth or a special harness as far as i can remember, i use to install this kit a few years ago. not sure if is possible to comunicate with it by bluetooth.
about the RR pi, is done, and waiting for testing, did some tests with skintool and works really well, also the android app author needs to release the latest version which includes sms, the version needed by this pi.
