I just tried V1.18 RRCONFIG, it did not corrupt the Chinese words in the ANSI file.

BTW, I also tried CARWINGS skin and noticed that the Chinese menu can be identified in menu.ini instead of exectbl.ini. It seems that RRconfig has no effect to menu.ini so even the previous version RRconfig won't corrupt the display on the skin. Both ANSI and Unicode menu.ini work fine.

Anyway, my issue was resolved with V1.18 RRConfig. Thank you mitchjs for your great and quick support

yes, carwings uses the newish dynamic menus
could convert dfx5 over to it

I don't think the issue is Unicode with exectbl.ini, it might be what/how the text is processed though
would really have to trace it though
I prob will make a myself a test skin, and see
just so I know what is happening
there is too much work around code in RR just for Unicode
(because RR is written in a non Unicode language, ancient VB6)

oh I do got to fix skin.ini, that doesn't support Unicode at all!!!
this is important, lots of per skin settings are stored there
required a bit of work for the "SAVETOINI" code
