    Plugins directory location

Must the Plugins directory be within the RideRunner directory or may it reside within a skins directory like the file Exec.ini?

I'd like to keep skin related plugins with the skins.

    Regards,
    Jim

there are 2 forms, global, and skin...

so if the plugin is per skin, put it in the skins\plugins folder

    Mitch,

    As usual, thanks.

    Just so I am sure,

    1) Plugins from both the global (RideRunner Plugins directory) and the skin plugins directory will be loaded?

    2) If there is a duplicate, which one takes precedence (global or skin)?

    3) "regasm" or an install process must be used for the "skin" plugins just like for the global plugins?

    Regards,
    Jim

    1. The skins ones will only be loaded if there is an x,myplugin in the menu.skin of the skin.

    2. In theory shouldn't happen as only one can be registered at one time (VB6 for sure, not sure about the .net ones)

    3. If they are .net yes, otherwise regsvr32

A menu.skin has not needed a X,PluginName in around 5 years. I have a Skin plugin that is required for the DFX skin, and handles most of the stuff the exectbl.ini used to. It is in the "RideRunner\Skins\DFX5\Plugins\" and no X, is needed in the menu skin.

    2 & 3 are accurate.

    plugin manager.txt

    ! Plugin Manager v1.0 *** See Plugin Manager.txt ***

    many years...

X,PluginName is depreciated, who would want to edit a menu.skin file...
    -Thanks
