    Also, I found that if it is parsing a folder title .. then it will not display the contents of the folder .. but if I hit the 'plus' button, the songs are added to the playlist.

    I am using the Brushed Metal skin with the RemediaCar enhancements.

    Feature request .. now about a 'Clear current/on-the-fly Playlist' button ???

    Really REALLY can't wait until the ID3 tag support

    Great program .. I am very excited to see MediaCar alive again. It is far and away my favorite Front End
    I'll definitely check into that, I might have forgotten some code ignoring the option...

    now, enlighten me on the use of clearing the current playlist ? is it just so you can add items without having to use "select" (check mark on modified skin) and then go back to the browser select more songs ? this is a very easy function to add -- hard might be finding a place to stick a button to do that.. I'll add the function anyway, then you (or whoever wants it) can make a new button or change the screen to use it.

    Somebody told me that girder could control apps through Sendmessage API, if that's the case, then you should ALREADY be able to use all functions of the software with girder. I'll have to look into it closer, but that's what I've been told. With the current version, ALL commands (including newly added commands) in the software can be controlled through the sendmessage interface (an example is included with the source files).

    Well, say you created a playlist on the fly .. and wanted it all to go away .. without adding new songs by clicking the checkmark .. that is what "clear" would do.

    But right now .. I renamed some of my folders, taking ou the dashes . and the playlist is really weird. If I highlight a folder and hit the +, it adds ALL the songs from ALL my folders to the playlist. If I go into an album folder and hit + . it does the same thing .. the entire collection gets added to the list. If I go into an album folder and hit any of the three 'add' buttons, it does not clear the stuff already in the playlist out.

    Also, the music does not resume playing when I restart the app .. it remembers what song I was on .. but does not play. I think MediaCar remember the song, and position in the song .. and resumed from there.

    I'll look into your playlist comments, it's supposed to always add the current folder and subfolder to the playlist upon hitting the checkmark. The other two simply add the items. I'll add your clearlist function, that's very easy.

    Yeah, MediaCar remembered the position of the song and resumed playing -- I'm not a big fan of having it autoplay nor resume the middle of the song (i like to always select and play what I want from the start), but I can add that feature as an option -- Mediacar also does that for video as well, but due to the limitations of the "tricked" Media Player Classic interface, I can not add such feature/option for video playing.

    Ok... I had time to test this. First: I need ALL of the commands. Randomly guessing what constitutes a command is not a good strategy. Also, how do you send the messages? Do you use a COM port or something because that's what I though when I saw "COMSend".

    Code:
    unit Unit1;

    interface

    uses
      Windows, Messages, SysUtils, Variants, Classes, Graphics, Controls, Forms,
      Dialogs, StdCtrls;

    const
      MY_MESSAGE = WM_USER + 442;

    type
      TForm1 = class(TForm)
        Button1: TButton;
        procedure Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
      private
        { Private declarations }
      public
        { Public declarations }
        procedure MessageReceiver(var msg: TMessage); message MY_MESSAGE;
      end;

    var
      Form1: TForm1;

    implementation

    {$R *.dfm}

    procedure TForm1.MessageReceiver(var msg: TMessage);
    var
      txt: PChar;
    begin
      txt := PChar(msg.lParam);
      msg.Result := 1;
      ShowMessage(txt);
    end;

    procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
    var
      txt: string;
    begin
      txt := 'Hello World';
      SendMessage(Form1.Handle, MY_MESSAGE, 0, DWORD(PChar(txt)));
    end;

    end.
    That's my code. Send messages to "WM_USER + 442;". Make sure to tell me what you are sending (just send 1 command when the user clicks). I'll take care of the rest

    Do the other two icons (the +1 and the + sign) do the same thing then, which is append to the current playlist? Or do they also recursively add to the playlist?

    What does the middle icon in that row do? The one that looks like ->] ?

    If you've ever used FrodoPlayer, the playlist selection (and deselection) is excellent. And it has the ability to save playlists for future use (with auto file-naming if you wish). Something similar to that would be great. I often add and remove things (whole albums and individual songs, etc) from my playlist, so having to clear the whole thing every time I want to make a minor change would be somewhat inconvenient, not to mention hard to do while at a stop light.

    Here's another nod for that option.

    Great work so far!

    if you can get me a list of all of the options you want people to have, I can make the entire options exe for you, which would make it a lot easier for me!
