Hello Gerard,
I have just installed remediacar, and am impressed with the interface ! I just now need to get it to work. You need to make sure you have downloaded the mediacar app first. I installed this in the same directory as ReMediaCar. You also need to download at least one skin ! Then open the remedia.ini file and make sure that the directories point to the right places. When you get that sorted, the app visual app should work.
That is were I am up to at the moment ! Good Luck.

You need to instal Winamp and Media Player Classic first, then unzip the Remedia files anywhere you want to run from. Edit the the Remedia.ini with your settings and that's it. There is a readme.txt with details of each setting, also on my links page (http://guino.home.insightbb.com/links.html) there's a link for the files you'll need to download, including two full skins (if you don't want to get them elsewhere). MediaCar has never been required to run my software, although, that does provide you a set of skins to play with -- the updated skins will provide you with a few extra options not included in MediaCar.Originally Posted by kpjuk
I keep getting an error messgae saying that I don't have a valid skin.
I've tried pointing the remedia.ini at 3 different Media Car skin folders and I get the same result with all of them.
Could someone lay it out in detail for me please.

You must point the skinpath to the location of a FULL valid skin (i.e. C:\program files\mediacar\skins\BrushMetal\ -- If you have the brushmetal skin in mediacar). You can download a full skin off my website (see the bottom of links page) or look around for some.Originally Posted by Curly_cat
This path is where all your image and menu files including mainly the "general.ini" and "menu.skin" files. If you get this error there's really only three possibilities: 1-the path is wrong, 2-the skin is incomplete or 3-the skin is invalid (invalid data) you should NOT enter the name of any file, just the path ending with \ )
Let me know if you still can't get it... check readme.txt for details on other settings.
OK, fixed it. I was just being a bit ( or a lot) thick.
I hadn't put the "\" onto the end of the path to the skin and that's what was casuing it to not work. !!
I'm happy now.![]()
Yeah, I know, little things please little minds.![]()

I have created an Install program for this. Just waiting on Guino to take a look at it, and let me know if he wants to use it or not.

Ask bry21317 (above) if he can make an updated install -- I'd make it available on my site.. I have not worked on it personally because it takes way too long (relatively) to keep it up to date.. besides, RR doesnt really NEED to be installed, you can just unzip it somwhere, use the config tool to define your settings and you're done..Originally Posted by fishy
