    Simple question: did you download the Full Skin package from my site or just the Update ??

    The Updates are meant to be placed OVER a full skin... they only contain the skin settings -- NO pictures or anything.. so you'd get an error.

    The location of the skin should not matter as long as you point to the right path.

    From what it seems I'd take a pretty good guess you're trying to use just the update files -- The full skins are about 18Mb each!

    Please double check and let me know..

If I click on the Music button, nothing happens, same thing with the GPS, which is supposed to open Map Monkey, also Exit doesn't do anything.

    Not sure if I am using the Voice Enabled correctly or not, but I turned it on, but don't yet have a Microphone to use. I do have all the SAPI software installed from your website links.

    As soon as I CTRL+ALT+DEL to close the program, which also still states iCar, then go back into the RRConfig program, turn off Voice Enabled, restart RR, everything works fine.

    Just figured I would through this out so that you are aware of it, if your not already.

    Also,
    I noticed that with the Alpine Skin, you can see the entire song name, artist all the items that are in the path. When I used the Brushed Metal version, from the guy doing the Ipod Wheel, I am getting just items such as track1.wma, track2.wma. Now occassionally I will get it to state the correct song names, when I click on the + to go into the folders, it will show them, but then goes back to not showing them. I do have all of the ID3 selections checked in the Config file. The only one that I don't have turned on is: Resume playing when start or unhibernate.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Bryan
    The voice thingy, try shutting down the machine, restart, then turn it back on.. There's code in the voice system that prevents the software from executing things until the voice is completely played -- that's probably why the application is not executing anything ... my guess is the voice API is stuck somewhere, so a restart might help, if not, try using the speech API in another application or through the control panel and see if it works, I have really not messed with this since the very first RemediaCar (back then). This is only to "speak" the commands etc (when not playing music), so no microphone is needed. VoiceControl will be possible with NaviVoice soon I hear... if the restart doesn't work, you may not have all the Speech stuff installed right -- and that's why it's an option...

    The Track Title I get from Winamp, so whatever winamp says is what you'll get... The WMA tag for that wma file must be set to track1 etc :/ .. if you want to prevent that from happening, look at the winamp settings and disable the reading of tags completely from files OR you can simply make sure the copy of winamp you use with RR does NOT have the playlist view OPEN. Just run that winamp copy, close the playlist then winamp. Reopen it, make sure the playlist won't open together, and then close it and try RR.

    Thanks for the heads up on the application process title. I'll fix that

    I also have a problem:

    I can see the entire list with music and all the subfolders, but when I click on one folder nothing is inside. If I choose select or select+ anyway I get a playlist will all the music which is stored in the main music directory. In the earlier release I could choose the directory(album) to play in the list.

    I can't figure out what's wrong. If I start mediacar itself everything works like I want to.

    The same story for the movies directory. The movies are there but they do not appear on the list at all when I browse

    When there's "nothing inside" do you not even see the ".." to go back ??
    If you don't even get the ".." then it's probably a bug..

    I tried to keep it simple but a lot of people get caught with the ".." deal, if you hit select(+) on a ".." item it will queue the PREVIOUS folder into the playlist, that is, the folder that contains the folder you're looking at and probably a bunch of other ones... that's why the new version automattically selects the first item in the list that is not ".." (unless you have nothing to display).

    The only thing I can think of for it not displaying the files is if you have the audiofiles and videofiles set impropperly... examples should be:

    audiofiles=.mp3,.wma,.ram,.ogg,.vqf
    videofiles=.avi,.mpg,.mpeg,.asf,.mov,.rm,.wmv

    Either the format above is used OR simply delete those two lines off your RR.INI file for defaults..

    Let me know,
    Guino.

    Oops

    It was indeed wrong: mp3,wma,ram,ogg,vqf instead of .mp3,.wma,.ram,.ogg,.vqf

    thanks!

    The config tool was blank on that specific line the first time so I added the extensions myself and that's where it went wrong.

    yeah, those are optional fields.. if you leave them blank, RR will use it's defaults.. we need to add some tooltips to help the user know what is what in the config tool...

    Not to thread jack, but this is related to the latest version of RR... when using the internal MapMonkey support (which I'm guessing used to be internal Destinator support) instead of External GPS, it still uses the External GPS skin definition instead of the destinator_gps.skin file. Is it supposed to work this way? Not that I'm complaining either way though, since I can just use the external_gps.skin file for my changes.
