    Update...
I think i have found the solution...but its only serial. Its originally serial but I want to add a serial to usb chip to it...that way it should pretty much fit everone's scheme..

I just have to check what parts i have a what i need to order/pick up and get a proto together...

what would you like to see as a cost for this? So, that after i check on the total of parts and time to make it is worth it....

    thanks..

This is something I plan to do to this project with the simple serial circuit that the first post refer to.
There are 3 inputs and 2 outputs pin on the serial that we can use. I have them all figure out but didn't have time to put together.
One input can be fore video safety switch (ebrake), one for software SDC (ACC/IGN switch), and another for light control (headlight/photo sensor switch). My Matrix has auto-on head light so I want to take advantage of it.

I have sitting on my desk a simple voltage regulator circuit that I have been playing with... total cost was about $10 to 15...

I used a LM317, a pair of photocells, a pair of variable resistors, and a capacitor... I used a fairly large cap to slow down the reaction. Basically the setup is to take 14.4volt input (standard output when car is running) and bring it down to 12v, then in complete darkness it goes as low as 7v. It takes about 15 to 20 seconds to go from total dim to total bright, the reason for this is so that street lights and oncoming headlights don't affect the screen drastically.

I don't have it in the screen yet, but I got too many "to-do" items right now and the screen is not killing me yet. I have a Xenarc 7TSV, I will post updates (when I get around to it).

I think that a gamma app should be separate. That's why I'm planning on removing it from NaviVoice. A separate app can be controlled by all other apps, easeing on other developers.

Anyway, someone send me something that works (voltage can be read in hyperterminal) or just a phidgets 8/8/8 kit with the sensor. I'd perfer it not to be serial

I think someone has. Anyway, if someone feels like building one and sendign it over then they'll get software

I'm have looked into a couple of solutions...i'm trying to find one that is both cost effective and and universal...cause some people don't want a serial one...(Ol33l, JK )
I've really been looking into combinding two ideas but i see $ going up slowly..trying to keep it on the cheap side, but functional...~15-20 maybe. Or is too much? That might be pushing what I see as a cost...

I'll keep you guys informed...have to do inbetween all this other stuff...
