You've been coding too much! That was bad.

Why not just use GammaControl? Configure it with the navivoice config utility.
Its got gamma correction based on your coordinates

Yes I know, but GammaControl forces me to night gamma if i select AutoGamma, I can not go back to day gamma even if I want to...
Besides, i have software that modifies the times in general.ini, so I would prefer it to work like it used to in MediaCar (AutoSwitch at at certain time, but you can switch manually also).

i'm a big fan of gammacontrol because of the fact that you never have to adjust the time. you set it once and it just does it's job.

also, gammacontrol is capable of doing auto and manual through command line. in frodoplayer i set up 3 menu buttons like this:

day gamma -> gammacontrol.exe /day /exit
night gamma -> gammacontrol.exe /night /exit
auto -> gammacontrol.exe

with "autogamma based on time" enabled, these three buttons do exactly what is being described in this thread. the only problem with trying to do the same thing in roadrunner is that the function of the day/night button doesn't exit gamma control after setting the gamma. if the day/night button would set the gamma and then exit gammacontrol, we could leave gammacontrol on "auto mode" and skin another button for "auto day/night".

by the way, does anyone know how to access gammacontrol's default setting via command line. all i know is /day /night /exit. /default doesn't do anything for me.

I don't see a "default" setting. This is from v.7. Its build is in the latest navivoice release

I thought of working on this today, but didn't get to it.. I hope do do something with it tomorrow..
