Quick Update while I'm on the go..

-Built in Video Player (without MPC)
-Fix for Hide mouse after Hibernation
-Added prevention from running same screen twice using SDK or remote
-Added Scan function (for MP3, TV and future radio)
-Various Bug Fixes

There's no built in support for playing DVDs, so either use MPC or an external player.

I am stuck in Flagstaff, AZ until friday without my home computer to update the web site and upload sorces etc. so for now this will have to do:

How can I add the scan feature? Haven't found anything in "skin commands.txt".

yeah.. haven't had time to mess with documentation yet..

make a button with the code "SCAN" and it will cycle through MP3s or TV channels.. you can also set the number of seconds to wait until the next scan by adding a setting to RR.ini:

scansecs=XX (XX=number of seconds)

Guino,
On the built in Video player, is this for DVD's or just other types of Video formats?

Also, how to you make Mapmonkey use your skin and not use its selected Skin?

I'd leave MPC in the installshield for two reasons: 1-It is still optional (so you can still use it if wanted). 2-DVD playback requires it when not using an external DVD player.

Map Monkey will always use it's own skin.. The BrushMetal skin at my site has the extended GPS screen for map monkey which is optional.. The skin you choose in Map Monkey is still used, the only difference is that you can turn off MM's info bar since that info is already displayed in RR's skin.

Just downloaded this- having 1 issue

When in video and press arrow to go back to main menu- the top part of the screen ie above the video controls disappears for a second ie desktop behind it shows but then menu appears and fine

edit: same with dvd option and 2 more things

2) in video when you hold down forward the speed is too fast for me- Im playing music videos of say 3 minutes so when trying to forward a little it goes right to end! any chance of slower or 1x 2x increments? (or a music video option!!

)

3) Im currently using RR on laptop as background music and video, sometimes when video up i like to bring up a browser to quickly check summat but when video mode the video control bar always ontop over Iexplorer (actual video playing does dissapear, when video controls auto dissapear still issue as soon as you go over that area with mouse)

It is normal for the video disappear before showing the main menu. I can not change this due to the navigation code (so you can always go anywhere from anywhere).

I'll try to add an option to forward in 20 Second increments for videos of less than say 10 minutes in lenght. It is only possible to set the speed of playback when using MPC and in DVD mode only.

The only thing you're supposed to do from the video screen is: Select more files, open the mixer. The idea of having a video playing and not watching is just silly to me, so if you want to run IE, please do it while not watching videos...
