You're lucky like that, I'm a computer Engineer and its the Hardware side of things I'm good at, i.e o/s installs etc, unfortunately I don't have the knowledge to build my own relay controller etc, so I'm forced to purchase things like that.

If it goes out some good idea of to use with the controller to LPT and 8 relays I can build after the hardware of the link posted

    http://www.geocities.com/dsaproject/...lay_board.html

and then if works put on line for all... before it takes the idea however on as to use....

So do any of these boards get past the parallel port boot up problem?

i.e. when you boot up, the parallel port gets random bits sent to it thereby inadvertantly activating the relays attached to them during boot.

I think this is no a "problem" this is a windows feature that at boot time, tries to find devices attached at the LPT ports and install them .. if a home made board is done, it is more than possible to assign a special code to "activate" and "deactivate" the board, that is prevent it from receiving commands until instructed to do so..

I can add commands for this easy, but I have no way of testing.. I'd recommend runnning the kit's app embbeded for now... then I'll add the commands for you to test as soon as I can..
