Guino, just make sure that the OSK can be adapted to "special characters", like german, scandinavian keyboards. I use VirtualKeyboard, something i found here: virtual Keyboard 1.0
and this is both skinnable and adapts to different languages...

You'll always be able to use your normal keyboard with normal applications.

This is pretty decent... May be this should be an option instead along wit RR's OSK.

Oh I see how it is . No worries, thankfully I got that bluetooth stowway foldable keybaord to hide when I'm not using it...

But if you are adding some sort of search for songs and using the OSK, it would be cool if I could scroll around to the letters that I want with the remote so I could type in part of the song/album/aritst that I'm looking for without having to pull out a keyboard for a simple word.

There are some key combinations that don't have an equivalent scan code. For example, L.ALT-L.SHIFT which is used to switch the active windows keyboard (toggles between english and greek here).

I would suggest that such a functionality should exist, and on top of that, have alternating skins for the different kb layout (ie english skin for english and greek skin for greek).

The full screen keyboard is a good idea, especially on small touch tft screens. Now, this presents a problem as someone said that you wouldn't be able to see what you type. But, there is a very handy feature, called alpha blending. I think most if not all programming enviroments and languages support it. It effectively makes a window/control/bitmap transparent. So, we will have both full screen and see what we type.

    Take care all,
    Nikos

Look at skin commands.txt for the commands to switch the input format.. other than that, you should not be allowed to activate things by pressing just the special keys.. The code in RR supports it, but I have purposely blocked them out.

    Hello,

I´m working on an osk.skin for writing sms. What I want to have is an osk like mobile phones have. The original osk should have a button for loading special characters ( !,",§,$ and so on ).

I created an osk.skin with a button that loads my special-character.skin. But something is going wrong with the TextBox - it´s always empty.

    I try to explain:

I start my sms.skin and write for example hello. Now I load my special character.skin because I want to have a ",". Is it possible that both skins work together?

First, this thread is over one year old

Second, there are limited screens that actually work as OSK..
I think they go from apposk to apposk4 for application osks, and in regards to other osk screens, they're mostly specific.. but if you tell me which command to resemble and which osk screen it should work with it, I can probably add it with no major issues.
