    Sending keypress's to RR ?

Hi G, what method would I use to send a keypress to RR.. I have grabbed the handle.. but cant seem to get anything to work, this is for a different project. not flash.

Say I'm after sending say VOL+, now I can add a "85","VOL+" so when I press the U key the volume goes up.. I have looked at commands sendkeys / postmessage and sendmessage.. is it poss you could give me a example

    cheers

I assume you're talking about mapping the letter U into raising the volume in RR... just open your KeyTBL.INI file and add the following line:

    85,"VOL+"

That's it... You can use the keycode tool to come up with combination of keys .. for instance, if you want CTRL+U to raise the volume you'd use 2085 instead of simply 85..

Let me know if that's not what you wanted..

yep I already sussed that bit out.. :-) so now when I press U when RR is in focus it does increase the sound.. what i'm after is the correct command that I send to RR from another app to do this.

ahh.. you want to simulate the keypresses to send commands to RR... just send in whatever command you want in quotes like: "VOL+"

You can simply type that stuff with RR in focus to try it... but I definitely recommend the sendmessages interface when possible -- it is cleaner, and simpler.. the VB code is even available with RR's source (SDK example) -- in there you just have to enter VOL+ or VOL- (no quotes)...
