    Radiator/WinampTV

    Hi Guino and Others...

I know this isnt the appropriate place for these hardware qustions, but since most people have been using this stuff maybe someone can help...

I bought a Pixelview PlayTV MPEG2 TV/FM capture card, and I am having a load of trouble with it...

At this point I have managed to install the factory drivers, which allows me to watch TV through the winamp plugin (and consequently through RR), but it doest work for FM through radiator (It works with its own program)...

I have also been able to make a BTSpy profile for it, and use it with the "generic" drivers from the btwinspy thingy, and use that dump file to "create" drivers for my card. This then allows me to chose the 8x8wdm.dll driver in Radiator and listen to the radio using radiator. However this break the TV in winamp for me... I have tried multiple configurations, but the TV always looks "blue" (as if I was in Composite-IN)...

Can anyone please shed some light? I'm going crazy!

the new version of RR will provide you options to perform TV and Radio Card resets exactly for those using a single device for TV and Radio -- Radiator quite frequently messes up the TV tuner's settings and sometimes the TV messes up the Radio settings.. so I have added support to reset any PCI and USB devices in RR. All you'll have to do is select your card in RRConfig and tell it to reset it when going into TV or radio.. you may not have to reset it when going into Radio.. but the option is there if you need to..

I'm only finishing up a few fixes with mappoint so I can release it.. this feature is alredy complete though.

    Thanks Guino,

however it doesnt seem to be exactly this... the problem seems to be related to my TV tuner portion of the card ONLY WORKING WITH THE FACTORY DRIVERS, and my FM Tuner ONLY WORKING WITH radiator WITH CUSTOM DRIVERS...

basically I'm in a catch 22... :/ It seems that without radiator (basically with winamp + factory fm program) I can get everything to work, but wth Radiator's custom drivers my WinampTV plugin doesnt get the Tuner input... It doesnt seem linked to which one I start first.

Do you know of any way of installing the new FM custom drivers, while keeping the old TV factory drivers? I dont even know if this would be possible with the way the cards are made...

is there an specific driver file you need to change or is it like a bunch of files ? If it's a single file, it's possible to simple make RR swap the files around for you (like I did for the DLink card) unless such action can only be performed by restarting the machine.. if you have enough details of your driver, you can try to replace the files manually to see if it works..

Guino, doesnt the Winamp plugin also support FM? I think it can scan for FM and for TV... :?

If so, couldnt one just use that instead of Radiator+Winamp? I can get the winamp tv plugin to work, but I need to run a special setup program (for the generic 8x8 drivers), and it is a full-fledged installation program, which I believe requires a reboot for the drivers to work, etc...

It is really a pain... And I thought this krap would work kind of "out-of-the-box"... no such luck!

Well, you should be able to make radio presets with the TV plugin and load them in the TV screen, you just won't have any features like seek/scan or fine tunning..

I'd have to dig a lot of documentation and add a lot of code to support the WDM interface directly in RR's code... I've done it before for Video only, but never for Radio..

Have you seen http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/ for video? Apparently it doesnt require any drivers because it communicated straight to the card... maybe something of the sort can be achieved for FM and later TV in RR?

the problem persist in any pixelview carts
i have the playtv pro (bt878a).the original drivers dosent work for radiator for a single reason
if you click the configure plugin it seems to scan in tv frequency
    no audio
if you re using the updated drivers same thing
because of many people using this configuration cart can we please find a solution for the radio?
