I'm thinking (from your info) that it may have to do with the "comma" used as delimiter for decimal points..
Short reply: new version does not crash road runner . However, is the first touch

    I shall keep'n touch.

    Post Edit:

I am not able to use autocenter, or either to show my position on the road. I have tried to use both: System and Western-European. Neither show position on map is showing the actual position.

Another thing: I am staying in the position showing in the attachment and the speed is counted to 275Km/h !!!! I have added in the route my position. As you could see there is no gps on the map

    Thanks again,
    Tolum

So I don't yet know if I still have issues since within RR I have no way of knowing if an apparent lack of GPS lock is really that or if RR is not quite talking to the GPS properly. Can you distinguish between those too states? I.e. Will a GPS generate events on the COM port even when it has no lock? If so, some UI difference would be very helpful in knowing if you've addressed all the problems.
I suspect that the 2 second wait you do in your hibernate code (I'm trying to hibernate always using RR at the moment to see if that resolves some of my issues) is not sufficient in some cases causing inconsistent hibernate behavior. Especially if that wait is still a 100% cpu loop (no sleep statement between calls to DoEvents). I have noticed hibernate seems to consistently take a lot longer if triggered via the RR menu than by the PC power button, which I would expect if the wait is still a busy loop.
Guino - have you / are you about to try my suggestion of hooking the hibernate preparation/restoration code to the OS calls? Or should I make the changes here and see if it makes my experience better and let you know / give you the code?
If you wish to give it a try, please do so... I'm working on the SDK stuff right now.. to save you some time.. RR already has window hooks on the frmCom form (used for the SDK), so you can just add a if statement to process the two messages for power control on the window proc of that form ... I'm saying this because it's the Only way to processe special window messages in VB and because it would be wastefull to make another window hook just for that..

Thanks - I wasn't entirely sure I could re-use the existing window proc subclass although it's what I would have tried first.

I have it up and running and everything seems to be largely correct.

One bug I had already been seeing appears to be a bit worse with my current changes. On resume from hibernate I would hear a snippet of a song before the song that had been playing faded in. Now I occasionally hear a snippet of a song twice before the correct song fades in.

Resumption of the song is a little later than previously (when I was using the power button) but I imagine that's because WinAmp is already handing hibernate/resume and I'm now running RR's code to tell winamp to stop unnecessarily and then waiting for RR to tell it to resume again. I may try disabling those pieces of code - but that will affect the HORM scenario since you'd want winamp stopped before the hibernate in that scenario in order to avoid resuming with (briefly) the wrong play list.

I may also have left the now unnecessary 2 second wait in but my spouse has control of the computer so I can't find out just now .

Disabling the code to manipulate winamp at hibernate/resume resolved the differences I was seeing. I left it triggering if HORM support is enabled.

Now I'm seeing better behavior all round -
If you use the hibernate menu in RR, it seems to be consistently closed by the time the machine switches to the RR view. Previously I would see it for a second before it hit itself.
I now hear zero music snippets when resuming from hibernate - winamp kicks in at the same (early) point as before (the resuming from hibernate screen).
GPS tracking in the MapPoint is now working consistently across hibernate - both with the hibernate exit menu option in RR (this was flaky for me) and on a power button induced hibernate (this was 100% broken for me).

I noticed that the music snippet bug is present at RR startup too. I'll take a look at the code to start winamp playing to see if I can work out why. I think it's something in the CheckResume function since (except in the HORM scenario) stopping turning winamp off means it has nothing to do and simply returns and that in turn stopped the snippet bug.

The above seems to be a state winamp gets into. I can't repro it right now so my theory above may be way off, but I've been hearing it a lot recently - it always seems to be the same snippet too. I'm running the latest version of winamp to get VBR WMA support. It has (totally independent of my hibernate fixes), been crashing a fair bit at RR shutdown with the more recent RR builds - I think it wasn't doing (so much?) with the 3-19 drop.
