    SENDKEY & MM Embedding

    I creating a new skin for RR to integrate with MM. I'm trying to make it as bright as possible with a white background because here in Spain the sun reflects badly off my Lilliput touchscreen.

    Anyway, I've been having fun with graphic & the new skin editor!

    But I've come to a brick wall WITH sendkey. Most commands are being send to MM like: "MM;Destinate_Favorites".

    When I try to integrate the SENDKEY command to send hotkeys to MM noting happens. I've tried a whole load of combinations and I'm stuck. Can some one give me a working example of the syntax for SENDKEY to MM. Here are some of the commands I've tried and none work:
    1. "SENDKEY;{CTRL}B" (Where CTRL B is the hot key set in MM for OPEN MENU
    2. "SENDKEY;^B" (Where ^ is CTRL)3. "SENDKEY;Hotkey_CMD|FE_VIEW_MENU_OPEN"
    4. "MM;Hotkey_CMD|FE_MENU_OPEN" (Which seemed to be mentioned in other messages but does not work for me)

    Each one does something because the MM portion of the screen goes black for a second before returning.

    If I manually press {CTRL}B I get the main menu in MM but not when I press the RR screen button.

    I have the latest versions of RR & MM.

    MM is not really an application embbeded in RR.. it is NATIVELY INSIDE RR's skin. The only way you could use sendkey with MM is if you disable the TCP/IP interface in MM's settings.. that of course, would disable all the "MM;xxxx" commands .. which means, all you'll ever be able to do with MM is what NM wants you to do through his SDK.

    Hi , I am creating a skin like you

    HI, I am spanish also (I understand you), I am trying to create a skin but for Via Michelin, I come from pocketpc and I was used to tomtom, 3d navigation is the best thing I have ever seen for gps, I have not seem software for pc that creates a 3d navigation except Via Michelin, I asked guino to create the sendkey command to manage Via Michelin from a custom skin, the problem I see now is that is not possible to access to the menus of via michelin using keys , is the only stupid program in the world that doesnt support keyboard shortcuts.
    I will try to control in another way or I will wait for Via Michelin 3 that comes out this month.

    Destinator, Routis/iGuidance (and I think Copilot) also provide 3D views, which are somewhat useless to my taste... If you can only access your GPS using the mouse, you may need something to simulate mouse clicks to control it -- may be tricky enough to make it too much trouble to worry about it..

    Thanks for the info guino, looks like I won't be able to do what I want. I'll test it with hotkeys and then TCPIP and see which one gives me the most functionality for my needs. But I won't be able to get all the buttons I need.

    I am talking about 3d view perspective, not like bird view 3d, in tomtom when you are driving you see 3d image moving always in front of you.

    I cannot get the hotkeys to work in MM in my skin, buttons like: "MM;Hotkey_CMD|FE_MENU_OPEN" or
    "MM;Hotkey_CMD|FE_VIEW_MENU_OPEN"

    In MM, I have plugins enabled, but I don't know if my settings are correct:
    [Plugins]
    //Allow custom apps to interact with the frontend?
    Enabled=Yes
    ListenPort=0

    I suspect I have an incorrect port number on MM and RR cannot send talk to MM correctly.

    If someone is using "MM;Hotkey_CMD|XXX" skin buttons can you tell me what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks...

    The "read altitude" function work ok with RR?

    The correct label to write (used GPSALTcommand) in Destinator_GPS.skin is?

    Units specified in RRConfig -- Mi/h or Km/h : to add write one line with the command?
    In RR.ini?

    Thanks

    Mauri
