Can someone clear this up for me, cause im at work and will try it later tonight........but does this new feature give the ability to display the album art as a icon , rather then seeing the yellow icons in list mode

I updated RR and brushmetal skin today to the latest version and RR has become very slow. I don't know if it's RR or something with the brushmetal skin. Everytime I switch from one submenu to the other it takes a least 10 seconds to open it. Very annoying and I have tried installing everything again but no luck. Till today I was using the 19-02 version wich worked superb. I'm going to try to some more thing (other skin, another winamp, etc)

Has someone had this problem before in the past? I remembering reading about this somewhere here but can't find it anymore.

Also cannot wait for slideshow album art if you have time to implement this.
The file type/pattern is set in RRConfig.. it's in the Music Section butworks for Music and Videos.. the *.jpg can be changed to *.gif if you want..

Try deleting the Mappoint.ptm file, and make sure you've run RRConfig and SAVED. My guess is if you haven't changed your settings for awhile, there may be a setting in the old (wrong) format... The MapPointMap setting used to besaved/loaded as "North America" or "Europe", those are now saved as the number 1 or 2, if you still have the old one you could get what you're saying. Also make sure you have the MAPPOINTERS and the MAPS folder inside RR's folder.

no.. at least not yet... I have played around with loading images as icons (for another project) and it is incredibly slow without some type of caching... I'd rather have someone make a Audio/Video Browser screen without the Album art space and with more space for the playlists, then I can work on something that will display the Album "icons" but Bigger and more of them on each screen, and controlled by pages (when it should be ok speed).

Only speed issues I've heard with RR are related with Flash.. check the RR FAQs.. If you have a "sticky" serial port and have the GPS port setup, but in use or set to a wrong com port, that could be the issue.. I've seen some funcky **** with wrong serial port settings before..

hmm, looks like a port problem then. But the weird thing is that for example with cdrskull's flash skin everything works OK and that skin is in flash (using more cpu I guess).

I will check my gps port and see if I have latest flash plugins installed.

    Thanks for your help guino.

Hmm, I don't know if It was luck or not but it's working ok again. I just went into the RR-configurator and I saw an extra option with this latest version: GPS port

I changed it from 0 to 3 (serial port being used for GPS) and now all works ok. I did not discover it before because I haven't used mapmonkey during all day. If I had it would have give me a nice error about a wrong serial port, hehe.

Now, i'm going to put mappoint 2004 on the pc and some extra music. I still have 20GB free

I have no mappoint.ptm when I first look. Change settings for GPS Com Port to 0. Then I've it to start but get no GPS lock of course. Then when I checked I have the mappoint.ptm. Tried to set it back to com port 1 and get the error again. I even tried to remove the mappoint.ptm with no luck at all. When I start mappoint alone I get GPS indication on where I am.
