    Built-in Safety ? Don't think So !

Guino Can you help on this one. Don't think its RR, is it ?

I have a problem that I was not aware of until I had fixed a flip-down RCA monitor to the car roof !

When I select video in Road Runner on my VGA touchscreen, I get the RR video screen controls but no video, so when the controls autohide I have a black screen. The RR video screen on my remote monitor is perfect. Work that out !

I guess some would say that's good because the driver shouldn't be watching video's. But what about the front seat passenger, they might just want to watch the film too.

PS: Don't know if it is significant or not but I'm also getting "out of range" on my VGA screen until the XP Pro OS kicks in.

A lot of video cards have built-in copyright protection IN THEIR DRIVER against watching MOVIES/VIDEOS on an external monitor or video device.. some cards will allow you to view video on an external monitor granted that you do not watch it in the main monitor ... If it happens in RR, I am sure it happens with any video player in your machine.

EDIT: If you're using a regular VGA Output from your card, something like this could do it for you:

My Epia M10K has embeded Graphics. There was not a problem in viewing on the VGA until I added the RCA monitor. Would this be the case then ?
The RCA monitor is via the M/Board S-Video output with an RCA converter, because I could not get the M/Board RCA output to work. Would this be a factor, or are we just back to copyright protection do you think.

yeah.. that's the same as having a board with two VGA outputs or a Laptop with a VGA output.. same type of copyright crap.. just to prevent you from hooking up a VCR and record any videos.. (like if DVDShringk etc didn't OPENLY exist..) if you get that VGA Y cable and a VGA to RCA converter it will work.. but it will cost you... I do not know if there's any version of your video drivers or any software that would allow that..

With the epia boards it can only draw a video overlay on only 1 monitor the other one will be blank i suggest you get a VGA Splittor and connect two VGA Monitors if you want to view movie on both creen.
