To Guino: sending commands to MPC

I'd like to create a separate skin for DVD player (not using the same as video) to use advanced functions of DVD (menu, subtitles, audio etc...)
MPC has hot-keys configurable possibility by option menu and here come the problems.
    1) The MPC in the RR folder seems to unsave the hotkeys configuration when you close and reopen application (seems to be a reset of parameters probably loaded from mpc.ini)
    2) If you give the possibility of making stable those hotkeys in mpc, how can I assign those combination (ctrl+x, alt+m etc) using skin commands. I tried using keytbl.ini, sendkey... but I didn't have any result... Help me...
    3) Could you make a command that load a skin that make same things of video_player.skin (ie autohide player) using a DVD skin command (ie DVD2).

MPC is not really an Embbed APP in RR. To make it a little less problematic, I insert MPC's window within RR's window -- this takes away the possibility to send keys directly to it.

To prevent issues, RR always copies a "fresh" INI for MPC to use.. this file is actually mpc.ini (not mplayerc.ini). If you run MPC and assign hotkeys, they'll only work if you copy those hotkey definitions into mpc.ini. Even so, they'll likely only work using the keyboard.

I can most definitely make support for a DVD skin. But if you tell me what exactly you have in mind, I may just do it already.

I'd like to configure MPC with the options-->key panel a list of hot keys ie

ALT+M= go to dvd menu (keycode 4077)
ALT+S= go to sub title menu (keycode 4083)
ALT+R= go to root menu (keycode 4082)
ALT+A= go to audio menu (keycode 65)
ALT+X= go to chapter menu (keycode 4088)
ALT+M= go to title menu (keycode 4084)

Then create a list of skin command IE

    DVDMENU,4077
    DVDSUBS,4083
    etc...

Then having a separate dvd.skin (that has an auto-hiding menu as videoplayer.skin) create the new dvd_on, off, down.jpg files that support these new commands...

    I hope I was clear...

Those should be easy enough to add.. I'll see what I can do about the "different" DVD skin.. should be just a matter of detecting say a "dvd_player.skin" file and using it instead of the "video_player.skin" one..

MPC as a seperate DVD Skin/Player load...

Guino - right down the road by the way in Louisville ;-)

On this note - this is EXACTLY what I am trying to do... Did you happen to add this support yet, or is it possible. For starters I am trying to work around this with just a way to seperately load my DVDSKIN, and MPC... I am confused on how to do that since I think when we use "DVD" u force MPC to load as DVD Player (is that hardcoded)... Since I wont use "DVD" - I would need to load MPC seperate...

If I am overconfusing - please let me know. But ultimately I want to do the same thing here - a Video Player for DVD (extra commands would be great) and Video Player for non DVD.... after much work I have MPC working perfecto so even better yet.

    Thanks for amazing work....

Guino - DVD/VIDEO MPC in skin - toggling...

    Guino -

My previous post is what would be great... However, until I better understand that I am just working my skin work around what exists today - but found something odd (but certainly can't call it a bug)....

I am using all MPC/INTERNAL... I seem to reach snags being able to switch from DVD to VIDEO... I was doing this as a test and "for reference have dualmon=true" ... when we do this do we need to somehow kill the last MPC instance, which I don't want to do all the time, and not sure that is the snag but "think it may be"....

Here would be what I would see (guess)

1 - Press DVD (a flag is set DVD is current player)
2 - Now you can nav around, MPC stays active either present or background for GPS nav and misc...

(next) - want to watch a Video File instead

1 - VIDEO Pressed / kills the MPC process (but just the first time?)
2 - Now you can nav around with video file.

Perhaps this makes sense - and am assuming that is the issue but curious on the logic that would best apply here, in addition to pursuing a DVD Skin and a VIDEO Skin....

Thanks if you could offer any insight on this...
