    Mappoint control problem

When i press gps button Mappoint starts - I see map , i see bar on top of screen with gps position, i can load route which i had created in mappoint before , and that's all. No one control function isn't working (like zoom autocenter etc.). I can't create routes - mappoint not searching places (when i press search button nothing happens).

    My configuration:
    WinXp Home rus SP2,
    Mappoint 2002,
    Latest Roadrunner,
    Xenarc pc,
    Xenarc LCD touchscreen monitor,
    GPS mouse.

    Thanx.

    P.S. Sorry for my english.

Have just tried mappoint functionality in mediacar - all works perfectly....
Is there any difference of mappoint handling in RoadRuner and MediaCar ?

What is your mappoint version ?

The functionality should be the same as in MC except for the new features.. regarding HANDLING -- it is very likely to be different since RR has never used any of MC's code whatsoever. I have never seem the map showing and the ZOOM buttons not working.

When you go into the Mappoint screen, if your GPS does not have a lock, it's possible you have to click "POS MODE" and then "SHOW POS" AFTER acquiring a GPS LOCK for it to actually start autozooming/autocentering ...

Mappoint version - Mappoint 2002 Europe
window name - "map Microsoft MapPoint Europe"

Gps have lock (I'm not using real gps at this point. I use Gpsgate simulator)
i see coordinates changing on info bar.

Another thing. Panel with buttons stays all time over map - not disappearing like in video player.

    Hi Goldwings,

I also tried MP 2002 and it seems that is not working with RoadRunner. It is showing the info on the upper bar, but not on the map.

Maybe RR is using controls for MP2004, that were not available for MP2002 at that moment. It will be nice if Microsoft will release a new version of Mappoint which will place inside again the maps for the eastern countries of the Europe (at least the main streets)

    Regards,
    Tolum

Yeah.. at this time I am unable to test mappoint 2002 (because I just don't have it..) I'd need a lot of stuff to test/see what's wrong with the 2002 version: a computer with vb6+sp5, mappoint and remote access for me to control it.. either that or I'd need a copy of mappoint 2002 -- I doubt there's a trial, so it probably would have to be donated.. but then again it might cost you just as much to upgrade to 2004..

OK Thank you for your answers.

Then I'll try to fix it myself (have some vb coding experience ). When i find solution I'll post it here.

I compiled Roadrunner on machine with installed Mappoint 2002... and it works now .... I had not to do anything at all just compile...
So now i have compiled rr.exe with removed mapmonkey support (because i don't have it) and added some eastern europe countries to route planner.

Guino - If you want i can email you mappointcontrol.ocx from Mappoint 2002 .

And if you'll make version of Roadrunner for Mappoint 2002 please add eastern europe countries to routeplanner's country list.

Ok, as far as I could test it, the control for mappoint 2002 does not work with Mappoint 2004, (and apparently, not the other way around either) -- so there's really not an easy way to "fix" this.. meaning, anybody that wants to use mappoint 2002 will have to recompile the sources with the mappoint 2002 control.. I can probably try to attend whoever can't handle this by making a binary for 2002 for those users -- at request.
