just wondering, is it possible to post recent traffic status (eg accidents, jams, weather report, etc) on mm or RR? i am thinking of like download info on pc before you leave the house or office and uploading it on the carputer maybe through phone? maybe syncing the info to the carputer. i think this will still be beneficial to drivers as an alternative to using gprs to download info on the road. thought of using a smartphone to do this, sad just traded my phone for a t616 to use audio gateway only still doesnt work (frustrated). anyway anybody has ideas please post them thanks

Peep MY TYTE WHIP yo! It's got too many ill mods to list!
I'm actually thinking about creating a program that will automatically connect to WAP and download traffic and weather data from local sites (sites would be user configured) and display it a program designed to embed in frodoplayer (MY choice ). I'm having a lil trouble sorting out the parameters but it shouldnt be too hard.
centrafuse & meedio do this, i figure if you have wifi in the car and at office/home (i do), when the carputer boots up/comes out of standby it will do a quick update for weather, traffic, movie showtimes, whatever, before you head out of wifi range... as for RR? i dont know
i noticed screenshots for traffic and weather on the centrafuse homepageOriginally Posted by Sonicxtacy02
meedio (if ya dont know) is just another front end, made mostly for HTPC's in the house, but their website has like a hundred plugins, one for traffic, one for weather, one for movie showtimes, one for ripping cds, etc... good stuff, no reason to make a GPS plugin for the home tho
Yea i was checking out there site as i typed that. Nice software, i see the weather plugin but no traffic, i'll keep searchin. Looks like it only runs in full screen mode. If it were a bit more flexible i'd run it as an external app
i may be mistaken with the traffic plugin... come to think of it, why would you need a traffic plugin in the house?
the software is nice, but i had a hell of a time trying to get it to easily browse my music... i figured maybe it was some crazy skin configuration options, but i just went to frodoplayer after seeing how much work it was to make simple
I would love to have integrated traffic information.
Route66 has for example support for traffic information (for europe). Would be very nice if it's possible to use that data so you will be warned
Here in Holland the traffic data is delivered almost in plain text. http://www.nozema.nl/data/TMCserver.html
Only NO gps coordinates or so, only highway-names and locations (citynames). Now need to find a program which displays an overlay with the text when you're on a specific highway...
Should be possible with the use of Mapmonkey to determine the roadname...
