Radio and Tv usb card

ok.. I got a tv / fm radio card today. It uses either usb or line in for sound, so I thought I was on the right road for working with RR.

On testing it works great both the tv and radio with the provided software, but I've tried the tv plugin for winamp but sadly cant seem to get any sound whatever I do. I also noticed the current version of the plugin crashs winamp.. the promising thing is that it looks like this tvplugin is being worked on, and that it will soon, if not already support the radio feature as well. This would be via the usb port rather than the mic/linein socket.. so sounds good, just will have to wait alittle.

The card I got was a Actionmate Pro made by compro I think

You should try uninstalling the TV plugin, deleting the plugin.ini file int he plugins folder of winamp, then install the new TV plugin.. I've seen many issues with the plugin trying to remember older settings (crashing etc). The latest plugin has directshow audio support which should work using the USB cable only. For Radio, I am unsure if you can specify a audio line to unmute or record from using the line in plugin.

got it working now :-) tv pic as a couple of flicking lines at the top and bottom, but very pleased with the results.. as well as the quality of sound and volume coming from the unit through the line in. The Digital in also works well, but at about 30% less volume, so line in looks good for now :-). Just got to see if Radiator works with it. If it doesnt would it be possible to add a option rather than loading the TV playlist, load a radio play list, this way I could have a radio button.. if you know what I mean :-)

I have an AverTV USB2.0 Plus TV card and have had similar problems with TV loosing sound after re-boot/hibernation and a random freeze. Aver say it's a hardware fault and I've returned it for replacement (but I'm not so sure myself I still think it could be software related

)
So I think I will try the new plugin......can't remember where it was... any chance of a link please

now I had to go and upgrade my drivers for the card before I got it to work, and also the latest version on the WinampTV's website errors on exit, might be just my card but it does. So I'm using in_tv_1.9beta4 which seems to be working great. I have yet to try it in my car.

I've also sent off for a Car TV Antenna off Ebay only £9.99, so worth a try

I have found very few radio cards actually work with the TV plugin.. it should be possible to make your presets in the same location as the TV presets and have radio and TV stations listed in the same place.. otherwise you can make two .BAT files to move the presets around to where you'd see only Radio or TV presets before going into the TV screen.. for all I know you could even make two different .skin files (TV and RADIO) and rename them approppriately to TV.skin when loading the presets..

Regarding the noise lines on the TV, you can simply change the zoom settings in the TV plugin to get rid of them.. you can also correct the aspect ratio in the same settings.
