    TRACKNAME and Flash?

I see that there was a problem displaying the TRACKNAME variable in Flash. I am having this problem as well. I have a dynamic variable in Flash called TRACKNAME. I have the label defined in my .ini file like it is supposed to be. However, I can't get it to display.

    Code from RR:
    /, L17,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,08,"Arial","TRACKN AME", "Track name"

    Display in Flash:
dynamic textbox on main stage with variable name TRACKNAME (not instance name)

Any thoughts? Also, any progress on the scroll list not popping on top of the Flash file?

Thanks for a great frontend BTW.

the label must actually be defined... you have it commented right now.. it should start with L17,000..... (without the /, and space in front). Then you should be able to use the vars in FLASH -- they'll likely be all UPPERCASE. I always recommend testing with the sample.fla/swf files included in the brushmetal skin.

    That worked great!

Any further advancement on resolving the playlist on top issue?

I'm referring to the scroll list/play list issue that cdrskull has asked you about before and I referred to in my previous post. When you display a scroll list, it appears on top of your flash file and shows whatever jpg you have in the background instead of being transparent.

    Is that clearer?

There's no good way around this.. I mean, there's no way to show flash on top of the playlist itself, nor any way to show it behind the playlist. It's just how VB works .. It would take incredible amounts of extra code to do it and it would either be slow or look crappy.. I could at most work on providing a way to load the playlist in flash (more or less complex) and add a command to play a playlist item from flash (very easy)..

I see what you are saying. Thank you.

I've been working on using Flash to run a batch file that creates an XML file based on the contents of a directory. That XML file is read into Flash into an array. Then you create a basic jukebox that lets you view a playlist and play one of those songs listed. I'll just stick with that approach.

Great program, Guino. In my opinon, the best front end due to it's ability to work hand in hand with Flash.

    Thanks..

You can make your Flash skin load the current playlist (if you want) by simply loading the winamp.m3u file in winamp's folder. You can check for playlist changes by checking the filedate/time... If you do that, I can easily add a command to play a specific file# from the playlist.
