does that happen when running RR ALONE ? (none of the other stuff?) If so, can you post your RR.INI ?
I did do the flash update but no help. Was wondering if my system is too slow or somthing else. What you think? In the windows task manager the cpu ugage goes up to 100%.The memory usage goes up to about 150. road runner stutters freezes for a few seconds up to about 5-7 seconds and Map Monkey's sound stutters.
Just running road runner, (navivoice not speaking just loaded in start up) and mbm 5 running in start up. The cpu usage goes up to about 50-60%
win xp pro
amd 1800 mhz
512 ram
250gb wd hard drive 7200 rpm
Road Runner
MBM 5
NaviVoice
Map Monkey
irman ir reciever
7" tc monitor
Thanks for all your help and suggestions

Thanks Guino this is what I found out...Originally Posted by guino
All these numbers are the very low and high I seen they probably only hit it once or so. So the average is probably around the middle of the numbers.
Windows running nothing else except whatever windows needs (nothing running in the msconfig startup) cpu usage is between 5-10.
Road Runner only running cpu usage is between 29-40.
Road Runner with using map monkey imbedded in Road Runner cpu usage is between 60-77.
Road Runner with map monkey running out of Road Runner cpu usage is between 34-50.
Map monkey running nothing else. Not with road Runner. cpu usage is between 7-16.
NaviVoice only nothing else cpu usage is between 7-21.
mbm 5 only running cpu usage is between 5-10.
mbm 5 with NaviVoice only cpu usage is between 10-20.
With every thing running cpu usage goes to 100%

Weird.. if you said you have a 800Mhz machine It'd sound ok.. but a 1.8 is terrible at that.. I'd check video card setup and bios settings.. then I'd open winamp by itself and remove any unused general/dsp/vis plugins from it.. and at last, I'd switch to a skin that doesn't use flash.. but honestly if the machine is idleling at 5-10% chances are high that you either have a virus or spyware crap in the machine..

That confused me too because I have a 933 mhz machine in the house with the same software as the car pc without that problem. Then it occured to me when I had the cpu usage displaying I moved it real fast back and forth with the mouse and the cpu usage went to 100% because the video card is not fast enough to refresh the screen then using too much cpu usage.
I think I some what fixed it I swaped out the onboard video (no good) for a couple year old radeon 7200 (no good now but better than the onboard video) works alot better but not perfect.
In the driveway I had Road Runner with Map Monkey running in the background and a dvd movie playing with using NaviVoice and the cpu usage does go up to 70-90% with all that but no voice stuttering (once in a while the movie get a little choppy but not too bad).
your guess the next step to make the video perfect with no chopyness and not have the cpu usage that high.(because it does still hit 100% sometimes but then comes down to 70-90%.
1. little better video card
2. little more ram
or
3. faster cpu.
or all![]()
Thanks for all your help
Keep up all the Great Work!!!!!!!!!!!
