road runner OSK to work with Earthmate...

Guino,

How would I get the road runner On screen keyboard to work with Delorme Earthmate...If this can work then I probably wont need to put a keyboard in the car...Is this even possible...I reprogrammed one of the buttons on the external GPS screen to bring it up when earthmate is running but when i type a location is doesnt come up in the program...thanks for all the help...

if you use the code "APPOSK" it should work with the "ACTIVE" window.. but more than likely the application will need to be embbeded for it to become "active" and work.

i dont see the RR OSK... how do i bring that up?

yeah i tried that but what happens is that the GPS software becomes inactive as soon as I click on the OSK button. I think i got it embedded properly unless there is an another way of doing this. Thanks for the help...

Before anything, you may want to try the Hide Taskbar option in RRConfig, and make sure you read the Embbeding FAQ... inactve you mean, behind ? The OSK come up in front is normal, whatever you type in it, should be sent to whatever has focus in the application...

In any case, that's not enough information to understand what you're saying.. maybe some screen shots ?

i will try to remove the taskbar and see what happens...what happens is that i have a blinking cursor in the box where i can type in the address but as soon as i click on the OSK button it disappears and the OSK screen pops up...when i type in letters i only get one letter...I will try to get some screen shots up...thanks

Ohhh... that sounds like the GPS software is takin away the screen when it looses focus -- if that's the case even the Windows OSK might not do the trick.. Honestly I hate that Delorme software so much that it amazes me how so much people actually want to use it. Even the Crappy (and FREE) Randy McNally software that came with my GPS is better than that.
