Thread: Help! Winamp locks up!!

I have not experienced any of the issues with Winamp listed above. Also I do not feel the updates are crap. As technology advances in hardware, developers are forced upgrade software to keep up with it. Since the initial release of Winamp, the PC industry has advanced 10 fold. Why not upgrade to the latest version and disable the "new" features you do not like. Compared to iTunes, WMP and VLC I prefer Winamp most. So I don't agree with your assessment. Also, check your connection or try another online music source. Shoutcast has never skipped on me. Try Pandora or Slacker to see if you have the same issue. Your issue may be related to a modem or router.

I am on 32 meg uverse connection. Might be something with win 7 ult because thats all we run.. I agree with you winamp is the best hence why I am so dissapointed at the quality of the soft now compared to when it was free.. But no was 10 or more pcs with dual core and over 3gb of ram so act like the above with winamp, yet play perfectly with WinMedia Player...

I'm also a very long winamp user... Almost never have issues with it. I have played streams for days straight and have had no pauses with the audio! I update it every few months usually. "compared to when it was free"...It is still free, and I feel that there is no advantage in paying for a "Pro" version of it.

Ok well as a pc tech, seeing your review lets agree to disagree that winamp has different effects for different pc's. Could be something I am running that doesnt like winamp. Just like DVD fab and other dvd soft messes with magicJack.. I do agree winamp is good. and I too used to stream radio for days on in... but lately I personally cant get it to work right. Being I dont have an mp3 collection and mostly use it for flac, till winamp gets around the problem I am stuck using media player and will go back to winamp HANDS DOWN when the problem is addressed!
