We all know that there is a TOMTOM SDK out there... Although, i can't seem to buy it...(out of stock).
Is it possible to tackle this from another route.. I have Tomtom3 on my pocket pc and love it... can we use the "Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Pocket PC" to embed this into RR .. not sure on the implication of resources used but potentially this seems like something which is possible if you have TOMTOM already, as the SDK is free from Microsoft..

Please tell me if i have got this all wrong and none of the above is possible / realistic or even makes sense......![]()
Ok, I know i can get it SDK and yes it's for the Pocket pc only .... This is why i talked about the Emulator.. If you embed the emulator you should in effect have a solution to the problem of displaying data on the PC....??Originally Posted by Laidback
Have you seen the specs needed to run a PocketPC emulator? Way above most in car systems.
Maybe so... but can it be done ?

Agreed this is power hungry, but as Ctwizard say's- can it be done, does anyone know if this is a feasible solution (resources aside)..?Originally Posted by ctwizard
Would the emulated pocket PC be able to talk to the GPS?

If you would be using a serial GPS it would work since in the emulator the serial port can be mapped to the PC's serial port. I'm very interested to see this work. I might give it a try if I had the time.
