Lightbulb Disable DVD & Video on the move...

This has probably been mentioned before but if it hasn't can we have...

An option to disable DVD & Video if D3/GPS is outputting more than 10mph, or a user selectable speed?

That way we can secretly disable the feature but to any nosey coppers that stop you they can't say jack sh1t because it won't play films on the move...

Might provide some legal cover for those who have d1cks for traffic cops.

I can add that easily, the question is what to do if the movie is already playing and you start moving. Plus, the cop will never accept to go on a "ride" with to to verify that you can't start the DVD while in movement. The only way this could be "enough" for a cop that knows the law well enough (very few), is to have it propperly linked with the parking break.

Ditto. There's a reason you shouldn't be watching TV while driving, and I seem to recall it having something to do with keeping your eyes on the road...

I dont but in the UK if it is possible to view DVD or movie on the move you get a ticket!
You could make the option switchable from in setup so we can choose it if we want.
Have it time out back to nav or music (again, by user choice in setup) when FD outputs more than 15mph for more than 5seconds or something.

Yeah, thats cool, User select action, speed, and time out... PLEASE. It would keep me happy for all the people that give me sh1t for being able to watch films on motorway, even though I don't! Its cause I can.

EDIT : Maybe make it only switch screen one, for ppl with rear screens.

Think about it.. If FD/MM is Closed OR if the GPS has no lock, the speed will always read ZERO. So basically all you'd have to do to override it is close FD/MM, or put something on top of your GPS ... this will make it as meaningless of an option as not having anything at all.. the only true way to have this well done is to make a input device plugged in your parking breark -- professional installs of video devices on the front seat always install the switch on the parking break (law requirement in the US, or so I believe). I can add an option to read a pin from the serial port that could provide the status of the parking break but you'd have to go and make that connection yourself. Even that can be easy to go around, but it wont depend on any extra software running or GPS status...

One way to do it would to always make the video dependant of the GPS software. If there is a signal loss then the video wont start/show or if the speed is not zero. But then there is no video if your GPS antenna is broken.

I like the idea of a switch on the ebrake, It would be nice if the ebrake is off that RR changes the skin, I made a skin with only Music, XM, and GPS.
