    Road Runner Setup

    I have been trying out both road runner and centrafuse. I like road runner but i can't seem to have it play audio files.

    In the configuration.

    General Sttings

    Ini path... what should i put here?
    Winamp path... i copied the path from the winamp icon properties.
    Media player classic... what should i put here?
    Start comand to execute... need help here as well.. what should i put?

    Video Settings.

    I am using power DVD it didn't work with road runner

    any help provided would be appreciated..

    Ini path can be left blank. It is the position where RR seraches for its config.
    The Winamp path is the path where you installed winamp.
    Here: c:\programme\winamp <- due to german xp (no winamp.exe behind)
    Same as Winamp but the path to your mediaplayer classic but with mplayerc.exe behind.

    Start command can be something like: AUDIO or RADIO This will change thescreen towards the thing you entered right after RRs start. shor: if you type radio, the first thing you will see if you start RR is the Radioscreen. You can leave it blank.

    Hope you understand my confusing english here. By the way, did you use rrconfig?

    Hi Zaid

    The INI path should be left blank whereas the current directory is good enough.
    Winamp path should be the directory which leads to the EXE of Winamp and not the Shortcut to the EXE - be careful there.

    Media player path is C:\Program Files\Road Runner\mplayerc.exe providing you have that EXE in the RR Folder.

    Start command to execute - this will execute an exe to start whichever pogram you wish as RR starts up. For instance if you put "Audio" then RR will startup to your AudioPlayer screen rather than the main menu when it loads.

    Video - Power DVD - This has been addressed and a simple search for PowerDVD under the RR forum will grab you some good info

    The problem I bet you are having is that you have not configured your music settings yet and have not directed RR to your music path. For instance c:\music. Or whereever you keep your mp3s.


    My best advice when starting out with it, Take it slow like baby steps. Get it to load - step 1. Step 2 get audio to play. Step 3 play a local video file, etc etc.

    ini will be in the same folder as rr I assume, so leave it....
    I used the installer, so my settings are

    C:\Program Files\Winamp
    C:\Program Files\Road Runner\mplayerc.exe

    No start command, so it starts on the main menu...Change it to start on a different screen, eg GPS for GPS suprisingly

    I use the built in player so can't comment on power DVD
    Old setup
    Epia M10k, Cubid 2699R case, 512MB, 40GB 3.5" drive
    New setup
    Optiplex 260SX (2.8GHz P4, 512MB, 30GB, DVD)
    Xenarc 700IDT, USB hub, 802.11g, bluetooth, P2140, P5V

    There's a link for downloading media player classic (NOT windows media player) on my site.. I suggest clicking the setting and browsing to the winamp, media player classic paths etc. The Installshield comes with media player classic it as well as a full skin (also needed and available on my site). Please check the FAQs on downloading files etc.

    Now start reading, there are tons of things you can do wih RR it is incredible.
