How hard would this be to do? - Button to copy text box contents to a file

I would love to add a button to the search screen that would allow me to copy the current contents of the search text box as a new line of text to a text file called "Songs to DL.Txt" how hard is this? Basically, after I search for a song that I find is not in my directory, I could hit a button that would add the search string to a list of songs that I need to download to remind me later. Example, I type U2 Beautiful day, it's not found, I hit a button "AddList" and the string "U2 Beautiful day" gets added as a line to the text file "Songs to DL.TXT"

    .

That shouldn't be too diffacult for the author, you may want to write it to an XML file instead of a txt because it can be more scalable.

If I am to work on anything like this, I think I would just make a "history" of searches, to where you could press a button and display "N" recent searches to select and search with ..

I guess that might be usefull too. Never thought about that.

Maybe I'll try to figure out how to do what I wanted to do on my own. One question: When we use commands in the skin editor like "Audio" and "Exit", where are those commands defined? IN other words, those are links to vb code written correct? So if I were to design my own command like "Savetofile" where would I actually code this?

    Thanks Guino.

Just search for "backspace" add the below right before it:

    case "savetofile"
    t = freefile
open "c:\saved.txt" for append as #t
    print #t, frm.txt(0).text
    close #t

that should work (although I haven't tried) as long as you call "savetofile" from the OSK window... now, to make this work with settings from rr.ini and such there's a whole shebang needed...

OK, thats a good start. I actually understand whats going on there. I know a lot of simple VB. OK, I have the source code on my home PC as well as VB 6.0. I assume you are referring to the CASE "Backspace" in ModRoadRunner?
Oh, and you lost me with the settings from RR.INI being a problem.
    Thank you very much, Guino.

yeah, that case "backspace" is the only place with such word in the source.. just place the code right above it and you're done.. What I meant was that You could make RR read a setting from RR.INI to tell which file to save data to.. but this requires more changes..

Oh, it'll be fine to do it in the code. First thing I've got to do though is figure out which libraries I am missing because when I load the VBP file and try to run I get compiler errors that the libraries are not found. I'm looking into this now.

Once I get my libraries in order, let me ask you this.

I add the case for "Savetofile". Understood.

Now, to trigger that to happne in the program, do I just have to make a button in the Searchbrowser.skin that has the code "Savetofile" and it'll work?
