    Question Startup / Shutdown scripts?

Hi, would it be possible to add a RRStartup.bat and RRShutdown.bat script to be run when RR is started and shutdown?

The reason for this is that i am building an rs323 controlled relayboard that will turn on & off the power amplifier after and before the drivers for my soundcard is loaded and hence I wont get that loud POP / BANG in my speakers. as startup is easy right now really through autostart catalogue in windows but there isnt any for shuting down as far as I know.

    Thanks for a great program!

Add this as "start command" in RRCOnfig:

    RUN;C:\Start.bat

    Add this on ExecTBL.INI

    "EXIT","RUN;C:\Stop.bat||QUIT",exit_menu.skin

This will work for exiting through the Exit Menu, but if you want more answers, read Skin Commands.txt and ExecTBL.INI. But really, if you want to run your application well integrated, you should use the SDK provided with RR for it.

I have a button on my audio player skin that toggles the Winamp sort mode and the RR display between artist-title order and just title order. Problem is that if I have the list in title order and shutdown the computer, the next time I start up, Winamp is still in title order.

What I want to do is either tell the Winamp playlist to sort the list either on RR startup, or when it closes. Problem with doing it when it closes is that usually RR gets closed by the OS when I hit the power button on the computer. I don't think the EXIT command is processed then.

Therefore, is there any way to automatically run a RR command when a skin is loaded (namely menu.skin)? That way Winamp would already be running and I could send a key to it to initialize the list order.

I believe there's been a "on skin start" command in RR for some time.
Thats all i know, you'll find it detailed in skin commands.txt i guess.

This would probably work for you too, just set it to 1 second

    /, (TMR) Timer event
    /, Seconds
    TMR,XXX

The above defines the number of seconds after loading the screen RR will wait to
execute the "TIMER" event that can be defined in ExecTBL.INI so a command is executed at such time.
This event is re-occurring, so every few XXX seconds it will re-execute the TIMER event. You can use
a simple variable switch to prevent it from executing your command more than once (if desired).

If you shutdown using the power button (or windows event) it should trigger the "ONSUSPEND" event in RR which you could use to do the same as "EXIT".
