Request: Separate Play and Pause Commands

Is it possilbe to have separate Play and Pause Commands? I use a remote that has separate Play and Pause buttons and using the command "Play" command cycles between play and pause.

This is a 'nice to have' for me. So PLEASEEEE

Sorry, didn't explain myself very well. I want to have the play button, play only. Not cycle between play and pause. Can't find any command in skin commands.txt that does not cycle between play and pause.

However, I have aldready found that pause is available as a seperate command.

I have the same thing with the 'PLAY' command as well, I was looking for a 'PLAY' command that did play only.

I don't see the problem.

If the music is playing and you want it to remain playing, you don't press the play button again.

If the music is not playing and you want it to play you press the play button.

But if you don't have play pause cycle, pressing play starts playing the current track again. I do use this every now and again. But as I said in my first post, this would be a 'nice to have'.

I use my steering controls a lot and not always the screen, if the playlist reaches the end I have to use the screen, would be nice to create a custom command to goto previous and then play.

If I do it currently it pauses 50% of the time

Well, you guys need to explay yourself better... if I had just granted your "no pause cycle" you'd get a play command that plays when stopped/paused and that does absolutely nothing when music is already playing. I'll add a "PLAY2" command for MUSIC ONLY.

EDIT: Nevermind, just add this to ExecTBL.INI:

"PLAY2","STOP||PLAY"

and change the "PLAY" command in the skin(s) to "PLAY2".

You need to read skin commands.txt before asking for commands that can already be done -- if you use "PREV||STOP||PLAY" it will go to the previous song and start playing music, regardless if the song is stopped paused or playing already.
