    Quick question regarding sendkeys

    I've searched for awhile and cant find the answer i'm looking for.. i'm tryin to set up a SENDKEY command and i want it to send CTRL+Q. How do i set the command up so that it holds down the CTRL until Q is sent? I thought i read in another post all i had to do was ^q but thats not working. Here is my code

    Code:
    "SENDKEY;^q||Close"
    The close part works find it just isnt sending the ctrl+q part

    ok so i've discovered that i can use F12 instead of ctrl+q. Its still not sending the key. I've tried multiple ways. Here is my current code

    "Close||SENDKEY;{F12}"

    "SENDKEY;^q" is the correct syntax. You might have to activate the application first. Try "ACTIVATE;Window Name||SENDKEY;^q||Close"

    have you tried to use EXIT instead of Close ?
    why do you need to send the ^Q ? the application should close by means of just the close command... if not, the question is why ?

    Well using the ctrl+Q command with igkeys controls the igzoom tool leelo created. But i got frustrated with it and whipped up a script in autoit to specifically close that program. I believe the reason the close command doesnt work on the igzoom tool is because its windowless and road runner has no way of closing it from windows processes (the only way you can close it at this point). I'm not really sure of an answer to that but my script is working great for what i need it to do. Thanks

    if you use XP, you can use the RUN command to run an EXE file to kill the process byt its name.. thus, making ^Q unecessary..
