    XMD Problems (I think)

Ok here it goes another XM problem; I think it's a problem.

Plugged it all in and created my own skin. I activated the service last night because I was getting the Preview Channel and assumed all was good. Try it out this morning and all I get is the preview channel still. Every line item on the list states Preview Channel; which by the way does reset until I tap one of the line items. I can pick up the preview and I can pick up the emergency station only.

So here are my questions for XMD as I couldn't find an FAQ Page under RR for it.

    1. Why do I still only get the Preview Station? Blame XM?
    2. Any way of setting up RR to automatically play the XM Radio when it starts instead of winamp?
    3. Any way of just selecting a line item in the list and automically have it switch to the station? Maybe set up a time out like the MiFI will automatically select the station highlighted.
    4. What Button Command can I use to select the station highlighted instead of trying to tap that small line on the screen?

As you can tell I did make my own XM screen and I have the bare essentials on there as I don't care to have a favorites list. I created quick links similar to what Chuck has on his XM skin; By The Way when I select a quick link is it supposed to automatically change to the channel? I see it display the channel number but no attempt to actually change it.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Hopefully someone can answer this because I have a similar problem. I get a few more channels but thats it. I can refresh it until my finger hurts and I get the same thing. I even replaced my antenna thinking that may be the problem.

If You find the solution please share.

I got my XMD and called XM to activate it. The agent billed me and said it'd be active in about 15 minutes. THE NEXT DAY it still just showed the preview on all channels. I called them back and the new agent said "oh, it looks like your account was not enabled".!!!!

Call XM back and make sure the idiot actually turned your unit on!

Yep I called them and they said it was activated and they did a refresh. They said my radio should be on for at least a half hour. Well over an hour of driving now and I still show preview on all stations. Should I have to do an XMREFRESH every so often? I do not have that command button on my skin but maybe I should have it there?

I can't get to channel 0 to validate my radio id. How can I do an id validation? I'm getting frustrated (actually overly anxious) for this to be activated. In total I have activated it 3 times (1 last evening, one over phone call this morning and 1 an hour and a half ago over the phone again).

Should I just leave my car running for a couple hours? I don't recall this taking this long for my other 2 XM subscriptions.

the ID is on top of the reciever. I have refreshed mine probably 4 time now at www.refresh.xmradio.com still the same thing. The most channels I've gotten was like 20, so I know it's working.

Well I'm beginning to wonder if maybe, just maybe the wrong ID is on the sticker.

Interesting how you only have 20 stations or so. I only get the preview and the emergency station. I wanted to verify the ID on the unit by going to channel 0 but I'm not sure how to get there from here.

Where do You have Your reciever mounted? I'm just wondering if that may have something to do with it. Mine is mounted under my center console. with the antenna 6" away from the window like it was recommended.

If I refresh in RR sometimes I only get the preview channel. I have yet to find channel 0.

My receiver currently is on the floor while I'm testing it and the antenna is mounted outside on the roof.

I'm wondering if I need to have this refresh button. I thought RR refreshed automatically.

Try it with some other XM program, such as frodo sat, you have to have very strong signal from both sats before it will pull a channel list. Also if you activated it before it had signal and was turned on it will take a very long time to get the full activation.

I will retry this evening when I have more time to spend on the PC.

I can't get my sat signals working in my skin either. Anyone else getting them to work? I read about people getting it to work and I followed some of the other .skin files people have done but I get nothing showing up.
