    Strange CPU usage

I'm running the latest release of RoadRunner, but I've had this problem for quite a while now. I am using the standard BM skin with a flash spinning logo.

When I first boot up my carputer with a fresh reboot, RR runs perfectly fine. I have my pc hibernate whenever I shut off the ignition. So after a few times of booting up from hibernation, RR will suddenly start using a very high amout of CPU. The flash logo will be choppy, and the keys will be somewhat unresponsive.

I have downloaded the newest version of Flash, and have also tried the fix in the FAQ. Any ideas on what is causing this?

The more stuff you open/load the more stuff windows has to save and restore when resuming. GPS takes up quite a load to restore. Depending on the amount of RAM you have the effects will vary.. question is, when it happens, does it even itself out after awhile or does it stay slow from that point on (no matter how long you've been running after resuming) ?

You should also try to hibernate with task manager running and verify if it is really CPU or disk cache slowing you down after resuming.

The slowdown doesn't happen right after hibernation. It occurs randomly, 30 mins to an hour after boot up. Also, I don't keep mapmonkey open. It's usually closed when I don't need it.

I haven't had it running long enough in that condition to see if it evens out after a while. You might be right about the disk caching, I never thought of that. I will check it out next time. I can't imagine it sucks up that much cpu though.

I'm not sure this will help but...

A few days back I installed RR on my local machine and RR and winamp consumed all the available CPU. When running winamp outside RR everything was fine - 10% of CPU. So I found out the RR asked winamp to do the visualization stuff, changed visualization to other and empty box behind and everything is working lika a charm now.

Guino, maybe another config option "No vis" or smth - which should be default in my opinion
