RR is running really slow...

Ok the only thing missing in your MC2.0 skin using the rr.exe that cdr posted was the album art(the default view only shows the blue icons, not the album ones..and when i click on the "view button" on the top of the audio broswer screen, i get nothing in the window....

The old rr.exe posted in this thread def. made a BIG difference(like night @ day) in the perfermance of rr...the above problems i mentioned above are all gone....i only get a little lag when i choose a visual, but other then it all good

I noticed when I have diferent screens conected the speed brausing rr is diferent. and when I unplug screen the musik starts jurking.

mine runs slower than slow on an epia mII.. 512mb ram. newest drivers, newest flash, i didnt get to try the new patch because apparently the link is broken. and i have yet to try the new rr.exe.

overall, everything goes pretty slow. but once things have been loaded once, it takes half the time to reload those items. however, these speeds are nowhere near acceptable when compared to frodoplayer. however, the features and looks are amazing.

Hey Guino -

I think the slowness might be the ipod support... Going back to the version prior to ipod integration, it seems to run alot faster (loads/clicks) I dunno though

I am expeircing the same slowness issues. I've been running the same verion since May 05. I wasn't having any issues, therefore I felt to just leave it alone and not upgrade. Last week I upgraded to the latest version, for the Sirius support (which works great Thanks!!!), and the slowness started.

If it is the iPod support causing the slowness, then is there a way to disable the iPod support, because I won't be using it?

actually i think i see something. its with the winamp visualization. whenever winamp is playing, my cpu rises to about 70+ but dies down to like 10 or so when nothing is being used. if i use the player without visuals i can maintain 60-70%use.

I also get a little slowness, especially when an ipod is plugged in. It literally takes like 2 minutes to bring up playlist selection, and until I bring up that selection everything is god aweful slow. I assume it's trying to gather all the songs into artist/genre/etc. Is there anyway to cache it or make it faster?

Just tried cdrskulls flash skin and bam 100% processor usage. I probably wouldn't have noticed except that the flash was real slow displaying. I'm with everyone else guino something must of changed in the code to cause slowness, for lack of a better term. I loaded an old version i had and everything runs about 50%to60%. I have a 2Ghz Amd with 1Gig of ram and 128 nvidia agp card. This should be more then enough to run this. I have a MII12000 for my carputer and im sure it will run even slower if i install the new version on it.

Guino: I'm sure everyone has there ideas of what is causing it but only you know what youve added or changed in the last couple revisions. I notice 100% when i have flash displaying. I haven't had a chance yet to browse through the RR open source yet but im sure i will sooner or later. <sarcastic>If i had time...i would love to debug a couple thousand lines of code

miztahsparklez : Sounds normal. I'm getting 100%, 70% is probably okay. The problems in this thread are cpu is maxed and everything slows down.
