RR Temperature Sensor - Ready out of box?

Does anyone know where I can buy a ready made temperature sensor? I want to be able to use it with RR. I would even be willing to pay someone to build one. I'm looking for atleast two temperaure leads. Thanks

I use the Phidget 8/8/8 device with two temperature sensors. Do a search for Phidget and you'll find a distributor in your region / country.

I believe those are the ones I've seen recommended for RR, particularly QK145

while some people who don't do electronics might not find $25 outrageous for that device, those of us who like to build our own stuff could put one together for about $5 instead.

well now that I looked a little more:

that's the info page for the construction of that exact kit. even includes source code, although it'll probably be more useful to port it to a different PIC like a 12F675 or 12F683 (since if you're like me, you don't keep a supply of outdated PICs like the 12C509 in my parts bin...)

Well, I think i just found out what I'm doing this weekend.
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:

With the kit does the temperature sensor come ready to go out of the box or will I have to solder all the parts together on the PCB. Thanks

With the Phidgets it's USB out of the box... (and you have the flexibility to use other sensors, buttons etc).

I think I just answered my own question:

I'll order one and see how it comes out. Thanks again for the info.

This is on the "where to buy kits" link on www.kitsrus.com ... I think this UK provider is the only I've seen to actually sell the kit pre-assembled.
